I love that she talked about self shame for wanting to feel better about herself. Women are shamed for aging naturally and also shamed for procedures to address aging concerns. It is a no win situation. This causes so many women to feel this self shame about their appearance. I think she looked great before the surgery!!! At 68, you can tell she took care of herself!!! I'm a little younger than Ellen but I speak up while in public as if I was 30. I've noticed the males listen and get into conversations with me and so do females, but it's females who do sometimes "diss me" every so often (they look down or look away while I was talking about the latest Spiderman movie or whatever, while in line at the cashier). No matter, I will continue to speak up! Btw, women's lib was supposed to end all this discrimination against older females (and discrimination against plain looking eyes, skimpy eyelashes, thinner lips, etc.)! Instead it ended the little respect women had in our society who take care, love and raise children and care for a home!!

That’s because some women age naturally and don’t get all of the sagging and wrinkles; and it makes those women who age like bananas feel bad. Women are generally valued for their looks and that’s probably never going to change. Once a woman gets older, if she doesn’t retain beauty and youth, she becomes invisible and irrelevant. I have been very proactive about my health as I lost my father to heart disease when he was in his 50's. I exercise, eat healthy, meditate, keep my mind active, remains socially active in my community, and am involved in our family business. In addition, I have my encore career in trying to help educate women about perimenopause, menopause, and post-menopause with my trademarked MENOPAUSE MONDAYS® HOT News Flash. I began to be unhappy with my face at around 58ish. It took me 10 years to decide to bust through all the shaming, fear, and vulnerability and get the facelift that I wanted. There are other sort of things that you can do that are more affordable. Such as, Plasma where they do a controlled burn. I am 69 years old and I have learned how to do this and I bought the machine. It can be uncomfortable for a few days after, but it will give you close to the same thing only way cheaper. I had the saggy eyelids but they are gone now. I also had bags and they improved and completely gone with filler. I had the bands on my neck they are gone from doing the control burn. What it does is it is a needle size point burn and it is done in a pattern that shrinks the skin and makes it tight again. Check it out on KZbin there are alot of videos about it. I wanted to also tell you about fat dissolve is another thing I have done with great results. My upper arms were so saggy and it has shrunk them to almost no saggy skin at all. I did the fat dissolve and then the Plasma to shrink the skin and it works great.

I had breast cancer and chemo when I was 32, which put me in menopause. Hormone replacement was impossible with the breast cancer..Losing hormones at 32, has accelerated the aging of my face. I’m 55 too and please don’t feel you’re alone… we are entering into a new phase in our lives with so many changes taking place with our bodies both physically and mentally. I have found that right now I’m not able to afford a face lift but I’ve begun making little changes and those have been very beneficial … I’ve had a hair makeover ( new style and new color ) which is amazing. I even had extensions added to give me fullness as I have experienced hair thinning as a result of hormone changes. Which I have also started going to a Hormone Specialist I’m changing my eating habits and limiting my caffeine and alcohol intake.. one day I hope to have a procedure to address some of the issues that I’m not 100% happy with. This was such an excellent video Dr. I just turned 70 and my skin is beautiful, I feel wonderful. I walk, do yoga , red light therapy every day. However, I feel exactly as she did and then I feel guilty for being too vain and so shallow. My face needs the full vertical lift, eyelids and neck. Sure do wish you lived in Florida. That would be the push it would take to get me fully inspired, and I’m sure there are a million South Floridian plastic surgeons, but I haven’t seen any of their videos. Also, Dr. , your approach and your consults are so full of kindness and knowledge. I find myself researching all skin products and I have several brands from expensive to the Ordinary😂. In conclusion, I’m happy enough with my look all made up for about an hour. I need the vertical lift to look how I feel. And I don’t want to look fake, just me. Thanks for the vent. I Loved the whole transformation from pre operation to post op to the weeks of healing!! I hope to visit Dr Karim soon I am 63yrs old and I don’t like the aging process that my face is going through, like the looser jowls and around the lips, I do take care if my skin but there’s only so much you can do. People might say I’m vain but I feel if it’s going to make me feel better about myself then why not, I would be doing this for MYSELF!! I have to look in the mirror at myself and I want to feel good at what I see!!

Oh my goodness. Ellen, you look wonderful. I really appreciate the share about coming to terms with the idea of doing whatever feels right for you. I too am struggling with the idea of just accepting the aging process that I see in the mirror with the fact that I feel so different than I look. I wish I didn't feel like I have to justify wanting facial rejuvenation to myself or to others. But again...you look beautiful and what you do for women shows your inner beauty.

Very helpful and informative. Often surgeons say you can return to work in two weeks but judging by this video you would want more time off. Her result was beautiful. For women who are aging but don’t have weeks to recover; is a fat transfer an option?

I’m now 63 and I think it’s time for me to have a full new look.I have never had anything done other than usual facials.nothing at all related to Botox or any fillers not even a peel.I’m a little frightened as to who to go too.any advice would be so gratefully appreciated.I can travel to the states if necessary for the correct treatment but most important the right surgeon..your filling me with confidence here.what and who should I see.many many thanks.

Hello! I'm scrolling through all the comments and I see multiple people inquired about the cost. I know that some may think that that is rude, but I think that if you are showing off your talent at what you do, (your art) and someone asks how much the painting costs or what is the general price range, that the question should be answered. 😘 If all of us were watching a video about this lovely lady and her older car that she used to have and how she bought a new one, and about all its features, and the car dealer was on the video talking about the fabulous new car, everyone should be able to ask... How much did the new car cost...😁 Can someone in the know give those of us (who asked the question) a price range for these procedures that she had done all together? That would be great, thanks!

Love this! Love her results! She looks great ! I appreciate that she’s unafraid to say that she judged herself harshly. I can relate. I’ve felt vain for spending my money on beauty treatments/ procedures. But the reality is, that many of us Caucasian women age poorly. Mostly in the face. It’s a bummer. Our bones and and facial fat and skin show the volume loss starting pretty early in life actually. Some of us might to be bold and daring and do what it takes to improve our looks . To be snipped and stitched isn’t that radical when I really think about it. In skilled hands it’s exciting to imagine! To have my face rejuvenated, plumped and snatched!

Your results are truly wonderful, so natural and literally turn back the clock. I would like to see how your procedure (s) work on ethnic skin...There seems to be a gap in the industry to accommodate black and ethnic skins with finding surgical procedures for a face lift...we like to look youthful too, even if it does come a little later in life (they say black don't crack) just a little joke! 😊Your thoughts would be much appreciated...
