Man everything about this car looks so... short-lifespan-ish (I don't know if there's a word for it). From the screens to the exterior to the seats. Totally the opposite of 90's 1.6L N/A econoboxes. I'm waiting for EVs to grow up a little more. Right now I have a Lexus hybrid that while it isn't the most modern on the inside, it looks and feels like it could last many more years. Following all this EV news, it does seem to be that solidly buyable products will come out from 2025 or so.

Had now for a few months after waiting nearly 8mths for delivery in the uk. The car is absolutely phenomenal and tech is sublime. Still working out how to use certain things and can be a bit overwhelming at times. Interiors very comfortable and definitely a selling point and the overall car is solid. Yes people either love or hate the eqe and Eqs and the price is very expensive which I think plays a part in people’s criticism. Transition to EV for me has been very easy and it’s so cheap to run charging from home. Nearly everything you see in the interior can be switched off if you prefer. But once you jump inside the ambient lighting and sounds are actually very good. MBUX system including hud and the BM sound system are superb. Everything can be set up to your preference. My wife has completely different settings and her key when opening automatically sets everything on her settings as soon as she opens including seat position. As far as Tesla, I know people with numerous models and the interior is just so plain. They drive well and the model s is faster, but as far as luxury they ain’t competing with MB. The 2 cars are not comparable and attract a different buyer. If all you want is speed but nothing else go Tesla, luxury go MB.

The AMG version used to cost moe because of the engine upgrade, transmission, exhaust, suspension, different bodywork and wheels tires. Now it’s $16k for just a different bumper and some trim. Not a mind-blowing deal and a bit overpriced. It’s more in line with the AMG appearance package in the regular models. But you know that..

I'm watching all these new car videos and the part that strikes me the most is how 90% of the time Tesla is always mentioned as either the benchmark to beat or just mentioned in general. I remember when Tesla was such a small company their product barely made any impact. Now Tesla has forced an entire industry to not only invest in a sustainable future but to rethink how they do business by putting out high quality, industry leading safety benchmarks and just overall fun products with all its cool software, crazy speed, self driving and supercharger network! Society has realized Tesla has a better ecosystem than any other car company in the world and the numbers don't lie! The reality of it all is that all these Auto legacy companies are building First Generation EV's. Some are doing it with cheap batteries and you can tell by how much capacity the batteries has and it's ranges, Tesla Model Y can get 330 miles with a 81kw battery($13.77-$15) on average for full charge, this car has 90.1 kw and is barely scratching 300 miles, that lack of efficiency will hurt this vehicle in the long run and makes a Tesla a better option in my opinion, because range anxiety is real with inefficient electric vehicle!!! Being a first generation vehicle, expect many issues and definitely expect 1st year battery degradation (range loss) usually 5-7% of the battery capacity on Tesla vehicles, much higher on other manufacturers vehicles and the impact winter has on the range is real and all ev's are plagued by this!!! These are the main issues all ev's have and Tesla has figured out ways to be less impacted by them. I would rather buy an EV from a company that is the leader in the space and not from one that is using me to establish their new products, I'm not a beta tester, no matter how cool it looks!

Granted, been a huge Tesla fan but man, I'll point out what I like and so forth. Love that grey paint job on the exterior and the fact the door handles have accent lights, too! The all-screen view is just futuristic looking and nuts! The sounds are good too and as you said you have the option to turn them off or put them into those cool modes. Even though it's pointless, the RGB fan in me loves the seat accents too. The steering wheel definitely looks a little *too* busy for my tastes but the upside is that everything does still have buttons and feedback. What a sporty car!

The HUD is about my biggest keeper IMO. Tesla's minimalist layout and tech presentation is more in line of Future vs EQ layout is still so similar to "traditional"...that works for those that like familiarity.

Very nice video, thanks. I am not 100% sold on the shape of the car, but in this AMG trim and paint color, it looks pretty bad ass!! Highlight of the car is the interior, that's a space ship all right :-). Space ship sounds are included. Did you ever drive the I4 M50 before, how does the sound - Hans Zimmer - compare to the AMG? Of course, these things are subjective, but I would like hear your opinion if you have driven them..

The EQS doesn't have the road presence of the S-class. The EQS doesn't have the back seat package/comfort of the S-class. The EQS doesn't have the desirability of the S-class. BMW did the smart thing: they built the 7-series and built an ELECTRIC 7 series - rather than try and make something radically different. The EQE, however, can get away with not looking like the E-class because it has less reputation to live up to. It's a good looking car and costs less than $90,000. There are lots of discounts right now to move them - up to $15,000 even. the AMG version, I doubt will move as easily as the E-class or the standard EQE. People buying "AMG" expect an engine under the hood.

With this dashboard in a spaceship, you can at least get up, go to sleep, do whatever in your ship while travelling with autopilot to the Alpha Centauri. But I can't imagine having to watch two square meters of cheeky bright animated blinking colorful tasteless Xmas tree decoration for hours without a second to relax especially during a night ride. This interior looks like it was dreamed up by a 12-year old 'designer' for a Russian oligarch. I miss though another $10 worth of some fast blinking RBG LED strip from the windscreen frame on the sides and top.
