Being an ex-locksmith, I have one main comment: I realize that you are pretty much a professional lock picker. I would say that 99% of most street thrives cannot pick locks so they are left to cutting to gain access. Do you agree? Unless you believe they are learning how to pick from your videos. Great videos for an ex-locksmith.

@@grantcivyt that's simply because a mechanic's job constitutes much more than just changing oil. It would be different if I called him a professional locksmith, but I said he's a professional lock picker. What a lock picker does is just that: pick locks, which exactly what LockPickingLawyer does. That's why he is literally a professional lock picker.

Because of your videos, I don't know which lock to buy for my ebike, nor feel safe anymore
@rebeccamartin37446 жыл бұрын
This is a good lock, I have a expensive ebike also and like he said, very uncommon pick technique.
@metamorphicorder6 жыл бұрын
With an ebike weight is less of a drawback since you have the motor. I wouldnt use this for an ebike other than to secure the wheel or wheels. As a primary i suggest a kryptonite 1415 lock and chain set and a bully pager alarm lock. This, the 1415 and the bully will all fit inside a 12inch rothco canvass tool bag once folded up and the shackles taken out of the locks. The bully pager alarm lock is a moderate strength ulock which would normally only be a b tier lock but it spent some xp on tamper detection and remote notification to edge into s tier. It has a fairly sensitive vibration detector and moderately loud audible alarm that goes off if its messed with. But the real gem is that it has a small short range radio transmitter in it. When activated, it sends a signal out to an included key fob that will beep and or vibrate to notify you your bike is being tampered with. It has a range of 2k feet. Nearly half a mile. All of this together should cost you about 260$. Thats for all three locks and the bag to tote them with. Buy the 1415 first. Its your primary lock. Then get the bully. Its designed really to go through a motorcycle wheel and around the tire snugly, so its got less room inside the shackle than most full size ulocks and for that reason is better suited for running through the rear wheel and chainstay or through the front chainring. It comes with a reminder cable so you can run the cable from the lock to your handle bar so you dont forget its there and try to ride off with it in place. Then i would get the lock in the video for the front wheel. Then the bag. Or bag first and then the locks so you have something to store and tote them with. On amazon there id also for 15$ a device listed as wsdcam which is a audible and really really loud alarm. It doesnt notify a fob but can be armed or disarmed or set off by the one that comes with it. Its pretty sensitive too and that can be adjusted.

today I had to cut this lock myself (and by no means am I an expert) due to corrosion inside the mechanism (purchased approx. 2 years ago new) ... so this lock has a fundamental weakness : the rivets connecting the chain to the actual lock. took me 1 minute with an used saw blade. there is enough space to fit a saw blade in there. 1 min for a noob completely destroy this lock. durp durp, kryptonite ! i'll re-use the chain though, but with a non-kryptonite lock.

Got a used one from someone who lost the keys, and I struggle to pick it. Picked it once only and I believe it was mostly luck. On my lock, disks binding order is from the back to the front, and I believe the first disk used for tension bind before the 2nd and 3rd one. Furthermore, I can't have a clear click like in your video. At best I feel a slight bump when rotating the disks. I'm wondering if my lock is more difficult to pick or if I'm doing something really wrong.

,any bicycle locks can be picked are cut, broken, its just that Walmart and target sell locks cheaper than bicycle shops, I have two of these locks, my advice to make it hard for your bicycle to get stolen, use chain locks, with u, bar, locks, and cable lock for seat post, never use cable locks to lock frame. Or. Rim's, most bicycles get stolen when locked up with cable locks.

The thieves steal mopeds with a swift kick to the front cover, reconnect the ignition wiring and cut the chain lock and they are gone in 30-45 seconds. They cut a bike lock in 10-15 seconds. Even if it makes noise, you will have no chance of reacting in time. It's to fast.
