223 compared to 6mm arc, 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 spc is all fair game as one of these rounds is primed to replace 223.

As former CSAR, could not agree more... Don't understand the mil planners: $ saved, training saved, familiarity of use, keep the M4 platform lower: upper = 1. 6ARC hybrid cartridge:80k+ psi, 3600fps, 1200meters effective, tungsten penetrator for level 4 armour, 14.5 in Bbl. 2. Bullpup for SOCOM, quick change bbls 10in CQB to 22in with bipod. Think Ares Defense for SAW. Think Stoner M63, read its spec, imagine it with 6ARC hybrid cartridge!!!!! OR Steyr Aug 6ARC in open bolt LMG 24 in BBL... OR... 8.6 Blackout hybrid case tungsten core ammo in AR10 platform/MDRX Bullpup: great super quiet subsonic suppressed hammer under 400 yards, switch to supersonic hybrid ammo to 1200 yards... both worlds from 12 in bbl!!!!! I fell in love with the 6mm ARC. Im hoping to use it for deer and hogs in 2021. I was only abke to pick up 2 boxes of 103g ELDX but co worker loaded me up 50 rounds of 100g Nosler Partition. I much prefer Nosler for game bullets . I am hoping more companies will make 6mm ARC ammo . Right now all we have is 3 selections from Hornady. The Black 105g BTHP has worked the best for my gas gun so far ..

@@Bullets4Bucks I have about 300 rounds in total fired through my 2 6mm ARC. 16" & 18" are my 2 current CONFIGS. In gonna be cutting down the 16" to 13.9" . I got the Faxon because I wanted Nitride or QPQ precision barrel . Criterion Nitride is my favorite but they don't make them yet . I'm getting 2516 FPS with 16" and 2552 FPS with 18" both using 105g BTHP. 18" is Ballistic Advantage Premium SPR PROFILE I really wanna try out the 13.9 once I get it back . I think it's gonna be the ultimate Recce Carbine . Compact and still capable of 800 yards . I'm hoping I can maintain 2450 FPS or at least that's my goal . If I can then it's gonna for sure be my go too for AR15 . I'm gonna pair it with PINNED 30SD BRAKE and 30SDK Can. Running the number through Hornady Calculator It should be fantastic deer and hogs rifle out to 250 yards. I'll never shoot past 150 yards due to the terrain I hunt in . I'm saving right now for PLX 1-8× GRIFFIN MIL ACSS for 13.9 . I did pick up PST G2 3-15× EBR7C MRAD for the 18" but it's on back order . So hopefully it will be in the next 2 weeks . I'm currently using an old Nikon 3-12× . Not the best scope but it's working until my primary ones come in ..

Very well said. You would think the Army would have just adopted this instead of redesigning a whole new expensive gun for soldiers. (Well If they ever do change over) I doubt they really will change the entire army to 6.8 anyway.

I wonder if they made a mistake with their backing of the new 6.8. That cartridge is specialized and expensive to make. This seems more practicable and affordable?

.243 Winchester (as a "6mm NATO" round) should replace the 5.56×45mm NATO (.223 Remington) for most United States Armed Forces use cases but the .243 has, as of 2022, never been used as a military cartridge..

The 22-250 is a short action so it’ll need an AR10 platform. The purpose of the 6arc is to run in an AR15 or a mini action.

The 6.5G has the 6ARC beat 300 yards and in when it comes to energy . After that the 6ARC Pulls away . The 6ARC Flys better due to higher BC. 6.5G is 0.510 and 6ARC is 0.536 using quality match bullets . So that BC makes a difference. If I owned 6.5G I wouldn't buy 6ARC or Vice versa.

For such an aerodynamic round I haven't been able to find many people getting good groups with 6.5g and when looking for reviews on here I've been seeing feeding issues on several reviews. Which sucks cause I can find ammo for it. I like the ballistics of 6mm arc but can't find many reviews or ammo available

Both cartridges are good... the ELD-X bullet sucks... it breaks apart like a v-max. Load that up with a GMX

It does blow apart at ranges closer than 150 yards i have noticed but at further distances I have had good luck depending on caliber. My biggest issue is I have had issues on bigger game not having much of a blood trail

You can only get that velocity in 6mm arc out of a bolt gun witch really hurts your mag capacity. In an ar 15 you're looking at 2500 fps for 103 gr bullet.

Academy has literally piles of 5.56 and 223. Been seeing stacks of 6.5 grendel too here in south TX. Hopefully this shit is coming to an end this year.
