Oh my Buddha! That is so true! Whenever I meditate and about to experience bliss and letting go altogether, there has to be a phone call, a text, some bees, anything will come at the right time! Even when i sleep meditate! As if mara is eyeing on me 24/7!!!

This is wonderful. I learnt so much and kept listening that I didn't realise the passing of time. Virtue is an amazing thing. The more you cling on to the five precepts, dedicating to following the path despite all the tricks that 'mara' lays at your feet and the more you endure and wait patiently for the hindrances to pass...right after their stranglehold is released, you feel a sense of victory and joy that you 'did it' and feel blissful. I don't think any other religion or any other teacher has explained the value of virtue like the Buddha. I'm very grateful. Thank you for this discussion.

What a wonderful question and answer exchange to follow up with Ajahn Sona's Jhana (3): Happiness which leads to Happiness talk. The best quote from this coffee talk at 50:01: Ajahn Chah has a very interesting saying: “What's so great about light? My flashlight has it.” Light means nothing. Joy means everything. Serenity means everything. Well-being means everything. Loving kindness means everything. Light, it means nothing. Who cares?

But what if we have no teachers? All I have are suttas, books, and youtube videos. I have no one to talk to and discuss my experiences. Do I keep it all to myself? Because I know a ton of people who could benefit immensely from this kind of practice. It seems to me that this "secret stuff" attitude does more harm than good, even though the people who are interested in this subject are naturally a very small percentage of the population.

You have to go it alone brother. KZbin gives you access to Ajahn Sona. His channel will give you what you are seeking if you go through his playlists. Guaranteed. (I am proof.). Good luck. And best wishes my friend. You can do it! Just follow Sonas instructions. 😊
