I actually see it as good news Ella. People are realizing they aren't happy and want to move towards things that resonate with them on how to increase their happiness. It worries me more that people aren't even aware of it and aren't looking for ways to increase their personal happiness. If the 1 billion people that are suffering so much in our world all worked towards inner happiness what a shift in the world we would see. This is only a very small percentage that has found this talk. We so appreciate the time you took and I hope this conversation resonated with you how you can add happiness to your life every day. Have a beautiful day.

If your not living for your purpose you'll not be happy, serving the self dwelling on the self over thinking about the self is all recipes for anxiety. God created to Love and serve.... that;s the key to life. I hope you find this truth and wake up knowing your loved and are just a little lost in the world because the world teaches us to be selfless and unhappy.

KpopTea But you need to ask yourself why. Maybe you DO know why you are unhappy but ask yourself what are you doing not to be?What are you doing to heal yourself? And most importantly remember that there’s a reason why you were born on a specific time at a specific place and not someone else. You have a purpose and you are important. There’s a reason you were put in this earth and not another person in your place. I know for me my purpose is to help. I love philanthropy, etc. What’s worse? Decide why are you important to this world

Good news Vaibhav - you nailed it in your last comment. You can search for happy videos all you want but it comes from you. The great news is you are recognizing you aren't happy and you want something different. This is the great thing about our bodies and brains. If you need to get to that feeling go and give, be grateful. When you get a taste of how it feels you will want more. The more moments you get the more you want and the more you will know from the inside this is exactly what life is meant to be. You get to choose every single day you wake up. Choose happy. Say it to yourself in the mirror every morning. Happiness is a choice and if you need some help getting there go out and give. Then you have happy and meaning. COngrats you did make it and you are on your way. Every day we are all on our way.

Free will and happiness is not necessarily controlling your mind , its being the witnessing presence behind understanding how your mind works. Observing your own mind if you will
@07sushy
@07sushy 4 жыл бұрын
@@joepronhaar5682 understanding is easy, applying it is the real challenge... Life throws various situations at you everyday where you get to witness your ego and desires through actions, thoughts and words (yours as well as others). How you react to others' words and actions is your ego, and how well you control your reactions and actions shows how well you have subdued your ego. Ego creates desires for gratification of mind and senses, through enjoyment of worldly pleasures. Realize that all pleasures are evanescent and a temporary illusion, and you will gradually rid yourself of attachments to worldly things and pleasures.

I almost cried watching this, but I don't like to cry, so i hold my tears lol. I totally agree with what she said! One day I was coming back from school to my home, and It started raining softly, but a few seconds later, it started to get heavier. I had an umbrella so I wasn't worried about getting wet. But in my front, there were an old woman. I'm shy, so I was having some trouble asking her if she wanted to walk with me so she wouldn't get wet. Then, after thinking a lot, I just walked faster to get close to her, and I asked her. She just looked at me and gave me a smile and she said she didn't need it 'cause we were already in front of her house. I just helped her open her house and I said goodbye. Even though not helping much, her smile made my day and I felt useful. It made me realize even though I'm young I can help people and make them, and make me, happy simultaneously.

Don’t get me wrong but sometimes giving too much can dig you into a deeper hole. I suffer from depression & anxiety. I find happiness in giving to everyone around me, seeing smiles on their faces. Sometimes I give too much, more than I should actually. I found myself getting taken advantage of by my closest friend & family which drained me emotionally but for some reason I still find every reason to give to everyone around me. I want to find happiness within myself rather than constantly giving to keep myself happy.

That we understand. Soometimes when we give of ourselves to much it takes away from giving to ourselves. I have this problem all the time. Don't take the happiness out of giving by not keeping clear boundries as well. Giving isn't the only "pillar" of happiness. Taking caare of yourself, our bodies, getting out in nature and gratitide are also so impoartant. Why not take some time to give to yourself. Finding the happiness from inside will give so much to the world around you and others. Sometimes the best way to give back to the world. Thank you for watching Mekenzie and the really thoughful comment. We wish you a day filled with happiness and giving for you.

It's important to find a balance, as with everything in life. We can not live with out water, however too much water can kill us. I often encourage people to give only what they can afford to. It can even be the smallest things/ little moments. Holding the door for someone, compliments, a hug, telling a joke, even a smile. When I'm having a bad day or week sometimes I just count the smiles exchanged, appreciating that me and someone else brightened each other's day. Costs nothing but a moment and can be very effective!

Every time I am struggling, even with the worst sorts of things, after acknowledging that whatever it is that sucks is a difficulty, j have been taught to make a gratitude list. It may sound silly, but it helps refocus your thinking . You can have gratitude just for breathing, if need be. Gratitude for love, now, past, or future. Gratitude for the opportunity to help another. It can be infinitesimally small, the thing for which you have gratitude. Build from there. I wish you health, happiness, and peace.

I so agree Ronald. the reason I took the time to get beyond my fear of speaking to the world and try to help people understand how they can get back to the reason we are here on this planet. We are meant to feel happy and we have gotten lost somewhere along the way. Happiness is just a feeling. What makes life worth truly living is purpose and meaning. We are here to have a meaningful life filled with experiences that create feelings of happiness. Giving is just one of those ways to create both. The feelings of happiness and meaningful life. The fun is the journey. When you give it makes the journey remarkable. The people you meet, the way you connect to nature, our planet and animals. It opens your eyes to this amazing gift we have been given. Start by giving to yourself - start the day with gratitude for another day to find your path to happiness. You are looking for it the reason you are here. Start giving yourself grace, and love. When you find it in you - it will overflow to everyone around you. Have a beautiful day.

I am honoured thank you so much. So many as you heard are suffering from depression. You re not alone. take some time to truly learn and understand about your body chemistry. That balance I spoke about between cortisol and your happy hormones. We all have the ability to shift these physically and the mental you need to work on. It takes time but we can retrain our brains to look at the world differently. Giving will get you out. Create social connections. Make relationships with others that feel the same way. This is what you need. Surround yourself with positive people that want to work towards a better happier world and it will help to create the physical and mental shift you need. Thank you for taking the time and most of all this was your 365give today. A positive comment goes a long way t omake another happy. You just did that for Nic and I. Have a beautiful day.

Thank you MN I am honoured. When you are depressed you are just stuck in your head. The best way to get out of your head is to live from your heart. When we give to others this is the shift that happens. But you have to practice this every day. Our brains are like a computer that just goes back to playing the same program over and over again. You have to retrain your brain to look and act differently in our world. I am so glad I gave you some happiness and by you watching you gave e happiness. That easy. Have a beautiful day.

I am so glad you found us as well. Sometimes the perfect things come up when we need it the most. Remember you are never alone. We all go through dark days and weeks. What I love about giving on those tough times is it gets me out into the community, it makes me feel like I am making a difference in the world - it gives my life meaning. That's what we all want at the end of the day. That being here - our life meant something. So go out today. Find a way to give that works for you. Make a commitment for 1 week - then another until it becomes part of who you are. It already is. You will then always know a way to get out of the dark days. When I was young the things that made me unhappy were more self-focused, the things that weren't going well for me in my life. Now that i'm older, the problems in my own life might still make me vaguely unhappy from time to time. But it's the suffering of others that really tears me apart. There's just so much tragedy and suffering in this world that it's hard for me to process and still be happy.

I had a few fights with my friends recently, and it has given me so much anxiety and depression. I always worry if I'm the wrong one, if I should've never stood up for myself, never spoken about my feelings. But now, I am making so much effort and progress in making myself happy. Everyone said I am in no rights to give if I couldn't even love myself. But if my happiness comes from giving, isn't that self-love as well? My dream is to help everyone who comes across me to smile, I want those who talks with me to leave with a smile. Giving is not only helping each other, but also helping ourselves. I will show my friends how strong I have become.

If I could be 14 again, I would NEVER spend my days fearing I couldn't achieve or learn something and then not even trying I would give myself as much time as I need to accomplish anything I want and never procrastinate again. I'd never develop my bad relationship with food, i wouldn't avoid my problems I would face them as soon as they occurred and by now, i would've accomplished everything that I've been trying to do since I was 14.

Thanks for watching Gillybloggs. It can drive you a little crazy! It's all about balance. If you take a look a few comments ago a gentleman made a great comment - "This is how the internet and social media can make the world a better place" We just have to use social for the good. If give - then we share it on social - it will continue the ripple that can make the world happier. It's been remarkable for sharing this message and the change we are already seeing. Thank you for taking the time to watch and great comment. Great thought! Maybe share some of your good on social today and it will make you happy! Have a great day.

I know with the development of the world today, people are likely to find it difficult to be truly happy. They need to face with stress, pressure, disappointment, sadness,....every single day coming from their work. their studies, their family, their friends, their colleagues, etc. However, Jacqueline Way have given me and maybe a lot of other people a totally different view. Being happy is not difficult. It's simple and easy that even a kid can do. This is GIVING and SHARING. When we are willing to give, to share, to help others, we not only make them happy but also make us feel warm and extremely happy. Our actions also make the world a better place, a happier place, a livable place. Let's start with the simplest thing. Be kind, be helpful to a stranger, to animals, to plants. And you will realise that we are the happiest person in the world.

Hi Soumya. Thank you for sharing your story with me. I didn't say this in my talk but when I started 365give I had a really big dream. I wanted to change the world. Not just one part but the whole world. I wanted it to be a happier more peaceful place for my children and generations to come. It broke my heart every day all the challenges from poverty, climate change, animal abuse that was going on. I didn't know how I was going to change the world but I knew I had to try. I had to do my part even if it made a little dent, made the world a little better. 365give hasn't been easy. We don't have a lot of funding, I have been told again and again I'm crazy. But I kept getting this message that I had to keep going. Then I got a chance to do this TED Talk and the world has opened their arms to us. I see and feel the hope from all over the world. People want to make a change. People want our world to be a better happier place. No one every said it would be easy but it's people like you that are willing to commit that will make a difference. Don't every give up. Always remember if you can change even 1 persons world it will ripple and ripple. You bring me hope that there are people all over the world willing to take the chance and make the commitment to make our world a better place. Thank you. Thank you for watching and sharing. You made me so happy today and determined to continue our work. Have a lovely day.

The good news Ajit when you are doing "goog" for others they don't think you're so mad. Everyone gets it. You gain respect and honour because so many wish they could or would do something and they don't. Too busy, not enough time, money or resources. But we can all use our expertise in our life to help solve the big problems. It's never just one person but a dedicated group of individuals that want to change the world. We just can't be bystanders - we all have to participate on some level. Thank you for watching and I love your comment. I so agree you can't give a "f^%$" what people think of you or nothing ever changes. Have a great day!

@soumya I did some activism myself in the past, pretty sincere and for pretty long, and got into big trouble because I didn't "respect" some corrupt local politician or local cop. I didn't have the nerve and energy to continue. I hope you do. India is full of apes going on aggressive power-trips every day. They also hold grudges for years or decades. Social reform is *not* easy from within the system - the system designers designed it to keep it subverted. See Kejriwal for instance. He's the toughest cookie yet and even he has crumbled. That's because too many people are evil inside and apathetic outside the system. Be prepared for a lot of personal heartache and depression. OTOH, if you do well in your engineering job or maybe go abroad you can make enough money to start and fund an NGO which will not make a noticeable change to the whole system, but will be a great change for those that it affects. Please reconsider joining the system. It's not for engineering types, it is a bunch of alpha male apes conditioned by years of psychopathy. People calling you "mad" is irrelevant. The facts are that the system does not allow reform in its present form and unless you are someone like Gandhi, I doubt you can change it. Better not be a part of it and have blood on your hands. Better to work as an NGO outside the system. No blood, just small joys. Changing it all at once or even a sizeable amount, from inside, is much tougher than climbing Everest. Much much more.

You don't need a lot to be happy. An attitude of gratitude will always make you happy. You may not have all that you'd hope for, but you can still be appreciative of what you have. Gratitude is a constant reminder of how fortunate you are to have all that you've been blessed with. Gratitude will always find a reason for you to be thankful. Ingratitude does the opposite. It's a constant reminder of what you don't have. This often leads to stress and depression. If you want to be happier in life, find more things that you are appreciative of, both great or small.

She was just encouraging to everyone who dwell in the past anxiety to let go and move on, because thinking in the past situation it couldn't help you anymore therefore it could cause a deep anxiety and additional burden.
