Great to see people making good content on IDI’s would like to know more about the turbo so I can put it on my 93-94 but in the passenger side wheel well, keep up the good work!

Hx35 wicked wheel coldside, hotside is 10 blade hx40 with 18cm (1.0 A/R) exhaust housing. So basically tweaked hx35/40 hybrid lol

Wow such a wimpy exhaust. This spring when my trans went out on my 97 7.3 i had the shop put my 5 inch system on. The fun part is its for f250 and f350 pu not the cab n chassis. Well mine is a c. n c. so its axle dumping for now. I had to get a new downpipe since i couldnt save it from my 94 7.3 ps f350 that got totaled. Im starting to get the elbows to build a tailpipe. I love the cab n chassis so much better than a pu. 11 ft bed but only a standard cab. Its a 4x4 dually which wasnt available as a dually pu

My f450 exhaust is true dual exhaust . It does not have a turbo which is bad lol. But plan on running that for awhile til I get the other engine ready to go . That's going to be inter cooled and has that Cummins turbo on it

Nice just watch out if it's a stock hx35 the hotside will actually choke an idi because it wont let it flow enough

Love the hell out of your guys' videos. I hAVE A 94 idi TURBO that I would love to bring to you and let you do what you did on your truck. Would have loved to see how you made room for the exhaust down pipe and see what a difference it made in the interior floor. My 250 is a nice clean piece, but 100% stock automatic. I've seen purists say over and over don't try and stretch these engines, but you seem to have it all buttoned down. It's been some time since you did your upgrades and this is the third or fourth time I've watched your vids. You are truly an inspiration to me. Just wondering though now that you have a few years on the build, have you had any problems? Just wondering. Your Centurion looks so awesome have always loved those chrome pull handles on the outside. Mine is just an XLT with a single cab, but that's what I have to work with. If you were doing it all over again would you do anything different besides leaving the trans attached to the engine on the pull? Has the truck been as reliable as you had hoped it would be? I'm assuming you did all your dealings with R&D remotely, instead of taking your rig to Washington. I've called them a time or two but never get through to them. Would love to hear how your build is holding up. Would appreciate any comments.

Build is holding up great! No problems except the clutch can't handle the power ! I will be building it up even better very shortly

Looks great. Can you explain a little bit more about the CDR Valve replacement? Won't it get dirty with only the pipe? Oh-... you ever thought about a dyno run? I'm curious how much power you got!
@Grewsum2Sum5 жыл бұрын
What's gunna get dirty? Lol a bug may crawl up the tube if they dare, but I dont think anything else could really get up in it

Grewsum 2Sum what’s it cost roughly to build a motor like that? Also what’s your mpg like and how’s it stack up to a 7.3 or 6.0 ?

Alright, man, I’ve learned that my dream truck is a ‘94 F350 Turbo 7.3L iDi with a 5-speed and extended cab. But what I don’t know is a damn thing about workin’ on diesels. Or even how diesels are different than gas engines. Besides watchin’ all of your videos, which I am and will, do you have any specific recommendations for an elementary level learning for diesel mechanics then going up from there? Thanks, dude!
@Grewsum2Sum3 жыл бұрын
Just watch a bunch of videos and read some stuff on the internet about how mechanical diesels work. But the best way to learn, (just like how I learned) is by forcing yourself to do something you don't know how to do and figuring it out in the process. When we first got this truck, we had just about the same knowledge as you do when it came to diesels

Any plans to address the hot air intake? There is some efficiency to be had by not sucking in air thats well over 200 degrees off the back of the rad/intercooler. Not a lot of room left but just wondering if anyone else has some ideas to get the intake to a cooler place or if you would use baffles/shields to direct cool air up there?
@Grewsum2Sum4 жыл бұрын
Might play around with that when I do my fuel system and re route my charge pipea once the stock filter head is out of the way
@camelotdream4 жыл бұрын
@@Grewsum2Sum Cool, just was wondering what you where thinkin. When I go turbo on my truck I want to think of how to do that to get better power and keep those EGT temps down. Your truck sure burns clean for a IDI. Did you notice an improvement (less black smoke) with the better breathing fromt he turbo? We did water/meth injection of our Maxxforce POS's at work and that eliminated tail pipe smoke and improved fuel economy enough to make a difference in fleet costs.
@Grewsum2Sum4 жыл бұрын
@@camelotdream watch our dyno video she doesnt burn that clean lol

@@Grewsum2Sum What did you use to open the path for the larger downpipe? Hydraulics...or just beat it open? What difference did it make in the floorboard on the passenger side. Maybe not much at all? Can the stretching/opening to accommodate the new downpipe be done with the engine intact...or does one have to remove the engine?
