I like how you cross pollinated the 9mm and 7.62 bullets in the powder coat . 😄

Transgender bullet orgy. A horrible consequence of having only one color of powder.

They turned out O.K. , much better than a lot of mine. "Those people on youtube ..." haha, LOL, I video my results from further away to shamefully ignore some of the horrible castings, hahaha, I shoot the crappy ones too, it's all "Trigger Time" for me and pop cans are my preferred targets. Mike.

I was happy with them. I haven't had much time to test them though. I do think people tend to show the best of the best in their videos. Just look at all of the 1 moa ak47s on KZbin. Thanks for watching.

Put a little bit of homemade sizing lube on those makes it a lot easier to size them.

Never reloaded or casted my own bullets, but it's pretty cool you can make your own AK rounds. Would be especially useful in California where you have to run background check and wait every time you buy bullets, plus FFL fees.

I've been to California and it is nice but i cannot figure out why people put up with all the nonsense that goes along with it. I haven't had a chance to test these out yet. Hopefully I be able to make a video about that soon. Thanks for watching.

@@mrdato116 i totally get it, everything is about tradeoffs. Heck, it gets down to -10 in the winter and up to 95 in the summer where I live, so that sucks.

Thanks for detailing your process. Would be helpful if you included mould model numbers, powder manufacture and so on. Not as helpful to the casting community if you don’t know what equipment the author is using.

The mold is home made. I have another video showing the powder and primers used to load these bullets.

@@RealDeanWinchester ahhhh. Well, thank you for the info and the video. I’m new to casting and am just trying to find a mould that works in my modern AK’s. Pretty overwhelming. General rules seem to evade this caliber. Factory is .311. Casting is supposed to be .001-.002 over bore. Can’t figure out why people (like Elvis) are ordering .314 moulds, powder coating and then sizing down to whatever. Thought it was .312, powder coat and size down.

@@Jdwg1972 you and i are in the same boat. The conventional internet wisdom says that you should use heavier than normal bullets when casting for 7.62x39, the story is the rifling is too fast and it will strip the lead off of a 120 grain lead bullet if loaded to normal velocity. I havent shot these yet because i am a whimp and the weather has been nasty. I dont believe that story. The whole reason i made that mold is because i couldnt find one to buy. My diameter came out larger than i thought it would, that seems to change with mold material, mold temp, lead temp, lead alloy, its a real pain. It is better to be big and size down, good way to be sure your bullets are round too. I made some 207 grain bullets with the same profile. Internet wisdom said my ak wouldnt stabilize them. They produced accuracy equal to jacketed wolf ammo at 100 yds, 950 fps.
