Pokemon Conquest is pretty fun and has a lot of content with a couple dozen semi-unique campaigns after you beat the initial one. The warlords you recruit carryover their pokemon through all the campaigns as well, so each one is a sort of new game plus. It's a little easy but that also makes it a good introduction to the tactical rpg genre.

Yes it was, I’d mostly played RTS before I got into playing handhelds and it looked interesting enough in the store and it wasn’t something that I got bored with and went back to just reading before getting a new game, remember playing it a lot. Hey You, Pikachu! for the N64 comes to mind. As best I can remember the premise was Professor Oak had created a translator that converted human speech into Pokemon speech and hired you as an assistant to test it out. The way the game actually worked was you tried to get a random wild Pikachu to pay attention to you long enough that you could become friends with it. Or, rather, how it was supposed to work. The built in mic on the N64 controller didn't work very well. So here you've got a kid given a new Pokemon game in which they can befriend a Pikachu by talking to it only to find themselves literally screaming into the controller's mic trying to get the bloody game to register the audio input. Fun times!

@@MasterXiggy true, it can take a while to get the true ending which is annoying, but it can be fun to resource manage. The problem the game has is that it’s incredibly punishing if you make a mistake and don’t have an a, b, and sometimes even c and d teams to make up for it. But training units costs time, money, and/or effort on your part. Perfect bonds help to make up for this, but they can take a while to find.

Even though it was pretty popular, now has a sequel and it’s personally my favourite Pokemon game, Pokemon Snap is still a pretty odd game. Taking photos of Pokemon is not particularly strange but the fact that mechanically, Pokemon Snap is an on-rails shooter, with light puzzle elements, makes it pretty weird

Pokemon Conquest was honestly one of the best pokemon games I've ever played. I felt so attached to the partner pokemon and the challenge was real!
