You might be able to, but chairs aren't indestructible, quite the opposite, so you'd have a higher risk of your base coming crashing down.

I realized last week that if I use my hands to pick up a plant in a random garden in town I only get 1 plant, but if I use a machete, ax, etc to pick it not only do I get 1 plant but a seedling is left behind. Now the next time I go to re-loot the area I have more food to pick up. At home unfertilized potatoes yield 2, but if i use the tool then I only get 1 and a seedling is left behind. Saves time on taking half my yield, turn it into seeds then spend the time replanting. Learning things everyday and your vids really help! Thank you!!

Capp, always helpful. Thanks for sharing this. Regarding underground farms. Thanks to Capp I learned that sunlight works through glass for use with farming. In addition to that, light travels 4 meters from its source, so you can create a silo farm setup underground. It's safer than being on the surface and digging out the rock is a great way to get XP. If anyone is interested I can explain in more detail but don't want to high jack this comment section too much.

I know old video but THANK YOU!!! Oh my god this will help so much. I just got the game on my PS4 and I’m at my first horde night. I chose a random map. I got stuck with a mostly charred city like area for a good chunk of the area I was close to starting too. I found a prison which I kinda wanna make a permanent base but I need food. This is just perfect. I can make my situation sustainable without having to go and risk my neck off far away. I’m alone in the game so I needed this. Takes a lot of stress off now. Thank you for making this video.

Hi Capp00, thanx for yet another great vid :) Just a hand in the air here... :D My fruit & veggies matures in less than 2 days in vanilla so I constantly run to my small patch to get the next batch in "before dinner time" :D Anyways, something that some players might be interested in is farming underground which is also possible using a "Sun hole" from up top to garden on Bedrock level. Just on tunnel straight down gives you a diamond shaped "sun coverage" enough for a small patch ... Just though I throw this one in :D Thanx Capp00 and have a great day... (oh and cover the hole up with a few upgraded wood frames and a steel bar to allow the sun to come through ).

if you plant in ground you get 1 fruit per plant,plant in tilde or hoe'd ground you get 2 fruits,plant in tilde/hoe'd and fertilised ground and you get 4 fruits. i would suggest hoe'd/tilde ground as a minimum that way you can keep half the crop to eat and re sow the ground for another crop.

Capp00 .... maybe you should do a video about planting trees on rooftops. Friend of mine tried that and it collapsed his whole house. So trees seem to be tied into structural integrity somehow (maybe weight factor?).
@RigItRay6 жыл бұрын
You can fertilize fully grown crops to max yield, then harvest. Only tricky part is finding the right spot to target ground instead of plant. Should only take a few clicks though.
@ridgefranklin83014 жыл бұрын
I was stuck on this for so long trying to find dirt block or something to craft since I'm in the desert not once did I think about looking up ground lol, thank you for the help great video
@occido6 жыл бұрын
You should do a follow up video testing all different plants and see what gives the most value of food in a certain ammount of time. So taking the different times of growing, the yield and the food value and mix it together to some average. Just an idea
@crightbrayons84166 жыл бұрын
If you use sod instead of the different ground types you can pick it back up (because you put it in the wrong spot) if it hasn't dried out yet. But to till it with the hoe you have to wait for it to dry out first.

I know on console it takes about 2 (real time) hours to grow crops. Give or take a few minutes. Like my game I always have set to 120 minutes per day, so it takes a full in game day for crops to fully mature which is kinda perfect. But regardless of what your settings, it’ll be 120 minutes real time of playing. Not sure about PC though.
@hyrulianguardlyfe39526 жыл бұрын
I have some thing for you to science, if it hasnt been done already. I know it should be obvious but. If you have say, 10,000 gas and a level 600 auger, is it more quick and effecient(gas and progress wise) to hold down the trigger and plow straight ahead or is it easier to just constantly tap the trigger for quick precise damage?. I ask this because holding the gas down makes the auger jump and twitch, sometimes to an uncontrollable degree, so how does one get the most out of the 600 augers durablity and 10,000 gas using the auger over a....lets say....200-600 block length tunnel.

Bobs200 - Check out the burnt biome. Sometimes you can find patches of fertilizer right in the ground that can be harvested by digging it up. You have to have sharp eyes though. The vast majority of soil is a deep brown. Fertilizer is almost an off color brown with white flecks. One you know what you’re looking for, it becomes super easy. Better than waiting 90 minutes to cook 1 fertilizer. I’m willing to bet once you got this down you’ll never make fertilizer again.

Nice lil Garden info video. Gardening can be a pain in 7d2d for one reason or the other. Your Video you kept the garden area 3x3 I think?, when on top of roofs the players may need to add support below if they create a larger garden, to much dirt/soil can collapse the roof. Wasting both time and resources & if they are below at the time the maybe doing a pack hunt too. Been There, burnt that shovel lol ...... Always Great Info

Hey Capp again have my two cents :) It would be cool to go over mushrooms as they are different (sort of same concept). Was also just gonna say that you can dig up ferilizer in the burnt biome, I guess I heard that but have never tried to do it. It would be a great thing to show off for people since that is super easy compared to making it. Hopefully that bit of info is true... Anyway great vid again can't wait for the next!

Still would like to know how water blocks effect growing crops as an added idea to the underwater base
@capp006 жыл бұрын
You can't plant things in water, I tried that. If the block is sticking out of the water, then you can. But it doesn't affect them just being nearby
@ladwarcoffee6 жыл бұрын
Capp00 thanks for the reply. To clarify I meant underwater using glass blocks roof farming methods with tilted ground to grow off of. I think you it would be a great addition to underwater bases you showed in a previous video. I think I'll test it on console creative mode.
@brego1296 жыл бұрын
Careful on a roof. In A15 dirt would collapse the roof after a certain amount. Assuming A16 is the same.

How do u get tree seeds? I find sum in trash piles, and oddly enough, in the desert drift wood. But I need a lot more than that. Hoping to displace spawning at my Hotel. They can’t get anywhere inside of my base...but there digging out the foundation. Hordes r a joke now, but the spawns on my property don’t have to get they my defenses; they just drop down into my abyss...they all die, but not the crawlers. It’s crazy what they’ve done. Reminds me of Resident Evil afterlife- the mole zombies dig into the sewers into their prison.

I'm pretty sure crop yields are one when not tilled, three when tilled, and five when using fertilizer.

Smaller bases are easier to defend and set up traps for. My base is usually a 9 square tower with a hole in the center and defensive platforms above that, spike pits below, and then upgrades to electric fences and some water channels. I also have a castle that is 53x53, and that thing is obnoxious to defend. Soooooooo many resources for less effective defenses on any one given side.
@capp006 жыл бұрын
I typically go for the smaller builds too for the same reason.
@AWanderingTressym6 жыл бұрын
I did wind up using one of your videos for my castle though. The one with the alarm lights. I basically have 8 towers at my castle, one on each corner, and another tower in the center of each wall. Sort of like a prison with guard towers but Victorian in look. I put lights and speakers on each tower to let me know where the attack was coming from. :) Not my idea originally, one I definitely got from your channel, so, thanks for helping me make defending that obnoxiously large base easier. :D
