Kevin I'm glad to see you posting again. Hope everything goes well for you. We used to chat a little on some of your older videos. I've always thought that your history of Tang Soo Do was very accurate and true. As we transition through life we have to make our Karate our own. That's why I often don't like schools or organizations that everything has to be set in stone. There is an Okinawan/Japanese term (that escapes me at this moment) that explains how over time we start off in a cookie cutter way but eventually we all have our own style or method. Good luck my friend.

Hello Wendell! Hope all has been well! I've been struggling to post for the past few months due to deaths in the family, work, and knee issues that have left me unable to do much martial arts wise. I just had a total knee replacement for my left knee 2 weeks ago, and the right is scheduled for Nov 28th. Martial arts are highly discouraged after knee replacements, so I'm at a loss as to what I should even make content on. I think I should follow the advice of Gary Vaynerchuk and just document my journey going through the surgeries and evolving my martial arts afterward. It definitely won't be Tang Soo Do, but evolving everything I've learned into my own expression of Karate, adhering to no style. Any ideas or thoughts are very much appreciated. I agree about organizations, that's why I've stayed independent my whole life.

@@kputala the term I was thinking of is Shin GI Tai. Michael Clarke wrote a book about it and there's a video about it on the Karate Nerd website. I can understand about your family situation since I am dealing with a grandmother and my oldest son are both deathly ill. I think that documenting the surgeries and recovery is a great idea. If you are allowed to I think your Physical Therapy sessions would be good to watch. Since you are going to be layed up for a while maybe you could do reviews of Martial Arts movies that you like. I have watched movies that aren't Martial Arts movies but do use martial arts techniques in the movies. You can also give reviews of any martial arts books that you own or have read. Reviews of fiction books that contain martial arts. I highly recommend that you read books by Barry Eisler, they are very enjoyable, but should be read in order. Since you have been working as an Uber driver how about some more videos about Self Awareness and safety when being out around the public on foot and while in a vehicle. Also, I couldn't remember but I believe that you told me you are living in Florida. If so wondering what part. One of my old Senseis who has also has been struggling with health problems lives in Fort Walton Beach Florida.

Also forgot since I enjoyed your Tang Soo Do history video so much (actually wish it was longer) that you could do more videos like that. Maybe a comparison and contrast of Tang Soo Do, Shotokan, and Shorin Ryu or any other styles that use the same Katas/Hyungs.

@wendellbenedict4793 Great ideas, thanks, I appreciate the help! I'll start working on them, but first, I need to learn to use a new video editor. I was using Windows Movie Maker, but it was phased out, and it no longer works on my computer. I can do shorts with my phone, but I will need to learn a new one for longer videos. Gives me some new goals. 👍

While I will continue to post from time to time, my main focus going forward is to write a comprehensive goal on Traditional Tang Soo Do as it was taught by the late Master Yun Tak Bong in Korea. After almost 40 years of teaching and practice, these surgeries will bring that to an end and I want to pass on his legacy and the art he taught to future generations.
