I used to do long hours (24-36 hours or OMAD)of fasting and lost 15 pounds in a month and look younger . However fasting got me binge eating.the weight lost gained back so fast within 1 week.now I no longer do longer hour fasting and gradually dropped weight as I eat within 8- hour window and eat a lot vegetables and at least 1 pound sweet potato or any other Japanese or jersey potatoes each meal with other plant based protein. My skin is so clear and feeling sooo good. Fasting longer than 16 hours does not work for me but I can do 16 hours with 8 hour window. I am happy that I find the sweet spot and thank you so much. Chef AJ. I listened to you and eat starch, eat vegetables for lunch.( I do not eat breakfast). Eating food in Green area makes me happy , satisfied and I am not very happy with my weight(128 pounds)

The misquote was that Chef AJ has been dedicated to WFPB for 43 years. I learned a lot from her honesty about being an overweight unhealthy vegan for many years. I believe she came to WFPB much more recently than age 17! Maybe she was around 50. Vegan is good, but, it’s much easier to eat junk as a vegan which AJ shares very well in her books.

When my weight loss stalls on the whole food plant based way of eating, it is always because I am eating one or more of the following: dried fruit, dates, juice, tahini, peanut butter ir other nut butters, seeds such as flax seeds ir sunflower seeds, nuts, avocados, or anything made from any flour of any kind including Ezekiel bread or corn tortillas. God bless you both! This interview really find me. I have been vegan since 10 years, I started very good, eating a lot of raw and fruits, no salt no oil, I was in fanstastic shape. Then some years pass by, a lot happened, I was travelling and I was not being able to cook for myself and I gain some weight. I start to fast and I started to think that something was off in my body. I was already eating vegan and gluten free, and no sugar mostly, but I still had cravings about more complex and process food. I started the keto diet, mostly a vegan version, and it really fucked me up. I start to binge eating, which I never done before. After 6-7 months of trying and failing miserably, during another fast, I had the light bulb switching on in my brain, and I was definitely DONE with any animal product's doubt, and with the low-carb non-sense, thanks God. I am now a bit overweight, not too much, and I am going to cut out oil and salt to get those kilos away. Thank you Chef AJ and Dr. Cyrus. God bless you! Your work is hugely important!

Fruits and vegetables are full of water and hydrate us well, so we don't need to drink a lot of water on top of it. However, if you eat a lot of grains, which are drying and don't contain much water then yes, you need more hydration.

Salt may do more than add 11% of calories. In 2015, British and Chinese researchers reported that body fat increased for children and adults on high-salt diets. Eating an extra gram of salt each day increased the risk of obesity in children by 28% and in adults by 26%. The study authors said they don’t know why salt has this effect, but other studies suggest that it may change the way our bodies burn fat.

It takes a few days of eating simply to reprogram yourself, but once you do, the other stuff will taste too sweet/salty/processed/heavy.

What is a healthy portion of rice is jasmine rice ok? Is white pasta ok? If not what is a good replacement? ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Stick to brown rices, I love brown jasmine rice. You need to eat enough to be full. White pasta is ok in moderation, but best to stick to whole grain pasta.

No, white pasta is processed. Stick to whole grains

I watched *Forks Over Knives* and appreciated the content, but I've always had a great reaction to fish. To further intrigue me, the Resurrected Christ partook of fish. What's the vegan case against it?

At the time of Jesus life, scholars estimate 300 million people on earth. there are almost 8 billion now. We are decimating ocean life through overfishing. not too mention the harm to highly intelligent marine mammals like dolphins who get caught in nets. Plus fish now contain microplastics that are potential endocrine disruptors. Jesus would want us to protect the worlds oceans, they are part of God's creation too.
