"We notice a lot of dislikable people. But we never seem to notice our disliking minds." - Buddha. Wow, that quote really hits hard when we consider all the trash talk and judging in our mind we do! Super inspiring and eye-opening stuff.

@@calmingambienceasmr6108 because being aware of thought is the first step to change. Sorry u don't get wanting to change starts with an accepting mind. No person on earth can change you. However u can move mountains once ur mind changes. This comes from a person very close to death so change can happen once the mind bends to a better state

What you said about your mother being truthful but not as compassionate and you learning not to fight her really resonated with me. I have this almost self-destructive habit of starting arguments that I know will lead nowhere, because even as an adult I'm still looking for that approval and validation, as if somehow my mother agreeing with me on everything would bring me fullfilment. 🙈

3 sessions in with my psychologist and I'm two weeks into learning how to love myself and teach myself that not everyone hates me. Two weeks ago i started with the big picture- the 'I'm gonna exercise, eat healthy and do what I love' but after two weeks of waves of anxiety and depression I talked to the psych and I came to the realisation that it's good to set a big picture goal- but what are the smaller steps to getting there? Now I'm here, researching how other people love themselves, mindfulness and compassion in order to implement smaller things into my life

the way I see our generation is an overrated mentality of "enjoy the moment" "seize the day" which in itself has a great value but when it causes living without personal values, this mentality loses its own value and brings in long term dissatisfaction.I appreciate your content Ro, thank you 😊

Reconnecting with flow, with mindfulness and being present is so important in our modern society! We get trained to be working towards achievements, to be productive, to strive for visible growth. We sometimes forget that personal growth lies in calm in introspection and in going with the flow

I appreciate your candor and honesty in this video. I feel like I don’t see self examination very much and I love that you can see a flaw in yourself and work on it such as judging people. I did/do the same thing and it is polarizing and it makes it hard to make friends but it’s amazing that you recognized that in yourself and are working on yourself. I wish more people were like you! ❤️

7:23 What you said makes a lot of sense and it reminds me of this thing I watch somewhere about the art and skill of zen that we need to keep our mind empty so that those thoughts wouldn't get some kind of stress and removing them will show the even better opportunities on how we can look at things in a better way and not think of the negative side of things. I can't emphasize this enough but it's just life changing tbh. And also, every time that I feel down, feel like I'm just not good enough or that I'm not getting work done I always come to your channel. I always feel happy when I watch your videos and they inspire me to do more and turn my life into something I would not regret. Lots of love to you sis

Thank you, Rowena for this video! I have always struggled with my own mind and its pattern of finding and being fixated on things I do not like in people or things. In the end, being this self aware on my pattern, I then brought judgement and harsh criticism onto myself. Tbh it is really a struggle as it connects back to ego and sense of self and I questioned myself so much to a point of a vicious cycle of anxieties. As for the gratification bit, thank you for talking about cancel culture! There is a Vox video talking about how people are more divided with cancelling each other or trying to humiliate the other side into joining their side. Slowly though, I do see a shift in from cancel culture as people are starting to realize its countereffects instead.
