Mr. Leland Sklar & Mr. Daryl Stuermer, Wisconsin must produce great musicians because both gentlemen obviously met Phil Collins' exceptionally high standards.

Leland, many blessings to you and yours. I have never played guitar, much less bass. Flute and piccolo player, if you can believe it. But I do so love the instrument. Many thanks for so generously showing how it's done.

Lelands KZbin Channel is so great and I'm so happy that he began showing us a lot of his music. Mixed up with so many nice stories! I "know" him since I bought the marvellous album "JT" by James Taylor in 1977. It shaped my taste in music so much - and Lelands bass lines played a very large part in it. Many thanks, Mr. Leland Sklar!!

Hey Leland, this is Rohan speaking. “Throwing It All Away” is a nice song by Genesis. I saw them perform live at the Wells Fargo center 2 years ago.
@leosthrivwithautism Жыл бұрын
I think if I was to get lessons with a legend like LeLand or any of the other great Bassists I wouldn't be able to control my emotions. Autism already makes that very difficult and I'm an empath I feel things too deeply. And if I managed to make these fingers work and it clicks in my brain how to play I'd break down. It's because it's the greatest feeling of accomplishment ever. And I can't handle it. I would need time to process it and when I pick myself back up I'd be unstoppable. I have a 4 string I'm practicing on. Thing is neck heavy like crazy and it isn't the best quality so the sound is far from perfect but hey we have to start somewhere. It would be a dream just as a hobby to play like the man himself. Maybe upgrade to a 5 string and really ramp up my playing abilities. I've been in love with the bass guitar since I was around 15 years old I'm almost 38 now. And only picked up my own bass about 2 years about. One day... I know I'll win this.. And live my dreams. 👍

Man, this sounded so sweet. I am amazed at how smooth and innovative your phrasing is. So, one of my stringed instruments is a baritone ukulele. Some call it a tenor guitar. Four strings, D, G, B, E, like the bottom four treble strings of a guitar. I’m thinking of restringing it to E,A,D,G, like the upper four bass strings of a guitar, or a four-string bass. I’ll be trying (in vain) to mimic your style. This could be fun. Rock On
