Watching you play is such a joy because you feel the music so deeply. You "PLAY WHAT YOU FEEL" the difference between just playing the music and becoming what you play...thank you Leland!

So this was originally a Rutherford part, right? When Genesis played live, did Rutherford play the bass or guitar part? Darryl would play whichever part Mike didn't, right? So curious if Darryl actually knew the bass part from Genesis and was playing the guitar part for the first time in this tour? If so, did Darryl teach to Leland? Boring question, I know, but I find those little tidbits of info interesting.

It’s also interesting, because the subsequent tour (...And Then There Were Three...) was the first tour Daryl did with Genesis. That’s where he and Phil began their professional association. I suspect that Daryl played that guitar part on tour.

Thanks for this Leland. I'm a music teacher in Rhode Island and it's been tough trying to teach 700 k-5th kids through "distance learning" for the last week (and foreseeable future). You are absolutely right that it's things like this that help us get through. As a bass player as well it's great to hear one of the greats doing what he does best. Thanks again!

Such a pleasure watching you play the bass guitar sir. Pleased to have your autograph on your wall. Even though we do not agree politically, trust in knowing that I deeply care for you and your music sir. Have a great day and thank you again for playing for us.

Dear Mr. Sklar. I've been watching your videos for a few days now and it has become a daily ritual. Thank you for sharing your experiences with us and for your wonderful bass playing. I now hear the Genesis songs with completely different ears. Greetings from Germany.

I’ve only just seen this video Leland. I really love your sentiment about what happened after the New York blackout and how we must not let the same happen after the pandemic is over. You have such wise words.

I remember before I became a musician, I would watch Phil Collins' Seriously Live tour many times over - can't remember where it was - I just remember being in awe of your bass playing - I didn't know anything about bass back then, but I just remember thinking how awesome your playing was. I am now a high school music teacher. Thanks so much for sharing.

30 years. It was 30 years ago that I first saw you, Lee, playing for someone (I forget who) on TV. I soon learned your name and you gradually became one of those cats I've always respected as a bass player. But this is the first time I really got to hear you speak...and I'm better for it. Keep on being cool and being real, man. Peace.

Stay safe too Lee. You are my guiding light, my inspiration, and these videos are gold. I saw you with JT in the 90s in Auckland NZ, and met you at Namm 2005 when I was in the US. I am a hotrodder too, so it's a double whammy for me.

Hi from England. I am a bit confused by the sloping frets on your bass. I can’t figure out how everything apart from the middle of the neck isn’t out of tune! Thanks again for these videos. It’s great to see you grooving along. Take care.

jim w check out Dingwall basses. It’s called fanned frets or multi-scale. If you look closely, you can see the bridge and nut follow the fan. Intonation is actually supposed to be more accurate.

Unfortunately, Mr. Sklar, the ability to appropriately be proactive for each other is one of the things which has been robbed from us for the time being. My own hope is that the state of emergency will lift soon and we actually embrace the opportunity to be proactive. When [anything] becomes an option again, it should not be taken for granted.

I heard recently about Phil Collins' health issues. I feel so sorry for him. Just wondering if you've been in touch as Genesis is about to go on tour. I know you toured extensively with Phil when he went solo. If you speak, let him know his fans care about him and are rooting for him.
