Fantastic insight on all the above, other honorable mentions (90s to present) -- Reggie Miller -- A good scorer with a 3 point-dominant attack. Think players, like Michael Redd or Klay Thompson. Chris Webber - There had never been another power forward, who could pass as well, as he could shoot. And, shoot as well as he could play in post. Play from outside post, as great as he could inside. Mark Price -- Efficient, do everything point guard. Most people would choose Nash or Stockton. But, Price was arguably the best go-to scorer of the 3, while very efficient. Rasheed Wallace - He was a fantastic post player, yet a good long range shooter who could play outstanding defense. Most highly drafted power forwards need a game, similar to his game. Kevin Garnett -- Similar to KD, but focus more playmaking and ball-handling ability. As well as the ability to defend all five position for any given period of time. Dominant post player, high scoring wing, fast point guards, jump shooting bigs, taller long range shooters, or super athletic wings. Put KG on them, he had games where has shutdown all of them at some point. Sort of like with what Scottie Pippen did, but taller, like a young Robert Horry. Every team now expects centers and power forwards to not only be good post defenders, but they have to cover PnRs, 3 point shooters, the other teams' best wing player, and any guard.

I don’t feel like Kd had too much impact on the nba. Don’t get me wrong he’s one of the best players to ever play the game but his influence stems from more of lebron like big players built like power fowards and centers but can do everything on the court. Thats Lebron influence not kd

Real Addict - I know what you mean, but I understand what swish is talking about when I’m playing basketball with my tall ass friends ain’t nobody says they shoot like Dirk , they be tryna emulate KD

No Steph changed the nba my man. Also rip was a two point shooter not a 3 point shooter and Steph shot off the dribble
@rodneyman7115 жыл бұрын
Koh Smoger I never said rip was a 3 point shooter I said coming off the screen , so where did you get that from?????? And rip was coming off elevator screens and zig zagging for fake passes to throw off the defense even on the wizards . Miller was similar but he had a set point when it didn’t work he would just get a screen at the end or pass to the post.
@rodneyman7115 жыл бұрын
Koh Smoger also kd was shooting off the dribble when he come outta college so was jerry west ,bird, iverson, Gilbert arenas Only thing curry does was shooting deep consistently only person I know that felt comfortable shooting deep was Vince carter . But I don’t see a lot of players doing it now only about 4 Lillard, Harden , Klay, Lebron

both dirk and kg changed the 4 position, kg being more all around with great playmaking and mid range forward, and dirk being the more offensive, faceup forward. both revolutionized what we see as stretch 4s

Marciulonis was one of the first players to use eurostep commonly in the NBA in the 90s, way before Ginobili.
Honestly I have always loved watching people take mids. I have always been a really good shooter but I struggle getting into the paint and finishing so taking a mid is great. I don't know why nobody ever shoot a mids anymore

Not as big of an impact but i think Rondo, and if you were doing old timers, Pete Mariavich deserves to be on this list, I haven't watched a lot of his play but he brought a new age for point guards with his fakes and his on and off court attitude, Rondo was very talented in his own way and you could also say that about Pete because of his crazy passes

Before Dirk enters basketball, in Poland was a player called Adam Wójcik, a 6'10, who could easily shoot from perimeter at over 35%.Unlucky for him, the NBA in 1992 wasn't ready for a big guy shooting far from the rim

Grew up watching Allen Iverson, number 3 became my favourite number. Crossovers, agility, modeled my entire game after him too.
