It depends on what your definition of an adult is. Our culture says you are an adult at 18 - 21 but being an adult is not just about age it's about emotional growth and there are many people that are not an emotional adult most of their lives. That is why as parents we need to help our children become adults by allowing them to grow emotionally as well as physically = there is a good book on this subject by Henry cloud
