4:21 shows a good reason not to date them. She carefully had him plan the angle so that she looks a lot better than she is. In Japan so many girls never show themselves as they are but only in an advantageous way, their whole life. Which prevents them from doing 70% of what a normal person would normally do, and they must have a secret life where they can actually be themselves. Really a huge pain, you might as well marry an inflatable doll.

Yup. Let's just say that culturally it's different, where in the West we value "being who you are" and hate "fakeness", in Japan we have less issues showing just a persona if that's what pleases more (hence the culture of hosts, etc.). After all, if men want hot girls, I'll show myself as a hot girl to make them happy. At first it looks like a good idea, but you see the dark side later: a person who lives mostly erased behind a mask never truly develops themselves (you develop yourself by being it…). On top of never being happy, which they'll also be resentful for.

Dated many Japanese men while living in Tokyo. Married one who came to the States with me and worked as a programmer for years. Everything Nobita says is true. It was so frustrating for both of us for reasons of culture, expectations and language. He returned to Japan leaving our boys. It made a complicated mess for all of us and I wish I had never met him. He never even thinks of his sons now. A divorce for Japanese means you are dead to them. This scarred our sons deeply.

Yea, the Japanese can be really unreasonable in ways that I just can't understand AT ALL. My friend's wife was married before and had a daughter. When they divorced, the father basically abandoned his daughter as you said. However, when my friend married the woman, at the last minute he changed his mind and refused to sign the papers needed for the daughter to leave Japan with her mother. So, now to spite having essentially had no contact with him for most of her life, the daughter is living with him. And to make it that much more insane, the mother feels that she can't have any contact with the girl, so as not to "come between" her and her father. My friend said his wife exchanges one or two emails with her daughter per month, she hasn't heard her voice in a year.

@@ХристоР woahh... is that just hate speech orrr u actually have some basis for that claim?
@mattfield33713 жыл бұрын
@@SilentAndy I think it's a poor assumption but I do actually kind of agree, and I've been to Japan...most people were actually really nice, super polite and would generally be willing to go out of their way for you, sometimes to a fault. But just like a lot of positives are built into their culture, so are many negatives...it's hard to put it precisely but their culture IS largely distrustful of foreigners. I think Nobita said in another video I watched but Japanese are largely risk-averse and part of this is a general distrust of foreigners. There is something that points at this being the case, given that some apartments, jobs, and other services basically outright say foreigners need not apply. You can say they may have good reasoning for this, but it's not a one-way street right, xenophobia IS xenophobia so regardless of the reasoning behind it, it's there. Also, I can say I've seen (not first hand) the Chinese version of this as well. Apparently China actually is probably more outright racist when it comes for their general perception of black people and white people, though I don't have much basis for this, I believe it's largely widely known that many Chinese people associate white people with affluence and culture and black with being "dirty"/loud/poor, etc. Please don't take my word for it but if you have a question on that look up racist Chinese commercials...yes they have commercials that do this and either they don't realize they're doing it or don't care, I'm not sure which is worse. Anyways, you can't apply this rule to all as then it would be a case of being guilty of the same thing but I do think there is something to this at least somewhat an aspect of their culture. However, it's not to say that is isn't also an aspect of many cultures around the world whether they want to outright accept or admit that fact.

@unknownperson85273 жыл бұрын
@Lemon Russ that's not my point lmao. You're really trying to twist things. If you're gonna cheat, fucking confess so that the other party doesn't have to suffer with you. If you actually love them, confess. Just suffer alone while being genuine. You're a better person that way and maybe you'll have another chance instead of being a bigger asshole still in a relationship while continuously cheating
@minionlover27423 жыл бұрын
@Lemon Russ Why are you still trying to justify cheating? Messing up the environment over time is not equivalent to ruining a one on one relationship. If you’re cheating just confess about it because eventually you’re going to get found out and the trust will be broken either way. If you never wanted the trust to be broken in the first place then simply don’t cheat? It’s not that hard to keep your body to yourself while you’re in a relationship. Cheating also isn’t a mistake because it’s something you’re doing on purpose, so once again, put on your big girl pants or big boy pants and confess to your partner about cheating on them. Then simply deal with the consequences of your actions, whether it be them breaking off contact with you or being talked about, it’s your fault in the end.

A couple of these reasons are why men don’t date anymore or are seeking to find women with values from another country. I’m half Japanese woman, living in Japan and have lived in Japan most of my life. Everyone has their preferences. I’m sorry to say, most of the girls aren’t interested in dating specifically a non-Japanese. But at the same time, I’ve met Gaijin hunters, who just wanna date non-Japanese. They have their own reasons, the ones I met, wanna date a non-Japanese because unlike dating with a Japanese man, they feel like they can be themselves(not saying, you can’t be yourself around Japanese guys) and don’t have to pretend to be dumb or cute. And some just wanted to try something different and some to learn language, (I think, girls or guys dating specific race for these reasons exist everywhere). I’m disturbed every time people making dating Japanese or Korean women videos. You date one person, each is different. But before that, you should know what you’re looking for in your partner, rather than watching unfairly categorized Japanese videos. The British guy in the video, I watched his video, sounded absurd, (he landed in japan and started dating random girls cuz he didn’t have internet and had nothing to do)like him I’ve met so many non-Japanese guys who doesn’t speak a word in Japanese and wanna date and keep on dating random girls. And then complain about Japanese women when they know nothing about them. My advice to anyone who wanna date a Japanese ( idk why you specifically wanna date a Japanese), first learn language and culture and know what you want in your partner. Dating everywhere is same.

I knew a lot of japanese people who says the same thing: japanese women don’t want to have sex after getting married or having a baby. Instead of that, women prefer men going to a brothel and don’t bother and just want their cash like they would be a bank 😂 that’s not normal at all!! I live in Japan. I’m with a japanese man who got married twice and we are living together now, I’ve seen how much he changed since he is with me on the best way. Japanese people has no real communication, they don’t talk about their issues or feelings, commonly they do their stuffs separately, usually don’t have sex, they sometimes sleep apart. Its so common that men go to brothels or kyabakura and women cheat on them with a new lover. So wtf? You can say, its something cultural, but... is that healthy? Do you think a foreigner girl would say to her boyfriend or husband: i dont wanna fuck with you. Go to a brothel and don’t bother me! Do you think that’s normal? Come on!!! Thats fuckin insane!!! That’s why so many japanese people commit suicide or disappear on their own and you know that not even police can help anyone if they want to disappear suddenly. I worked in a kyabakura and those stories are so freakin common. Sometimes so young people saying they are married but have no sex after one year of it. Japanese girls usually are so superficial and only cares about brands, money and who’s the prettiest famous guys nowadays. I’m sorry but you have absolutely no brain. You can never talk with a japanese girl about feminism because they don’t even know what it means 😂 instead of that, they think they are lucky because they have a “only girls” train 😂 and don’t know that’s because of sexual harassment. So wtf??? So much technology and so many good stuffs about japanese government system but as a women, japanese girls make me feel so ashamed. I’m half japanese and that’s fuckin ashamed for me after I came to this country and knew how japanese girls really are. That’s the reality! Don’t try to deny it! Because I met foreigners who got married with japanese girls and said: that’s the worst thing I could’ve ever done! Never again in my life!

@@lasian_mami well glad to see someone who seems to have a similar background like me. Well I’m half Japanese and have worked in kyabakuras and as a hostess in Ginza and I know what you’re talking about. Well Japanese men go to those places as 付き合い、as most men don’t go there to look for something serious in those places. Just to drink and talk and mostly after work with their colleagues or just to talk about business as well,but some are there to seek for something romantic .(well it depends on if it’s a cheap kyabakura or not) (While western men goes to strip clubs in western world) not all Japanese men go to kyabakura and brothels specially the younger generation and not all women allow their men to go sleep around. I think you’re familiar with a term "open relationship ". That’s something exists in many countries. Hmm yeah some women consider marrying someone rich will buy them ticket of not have to work. But as you might know gold diggers exists everywhere. And if you have the information only from kyabakura and night clubs, of course there is higher chances ,you will get to know only one side of the story, people who go to kyabakura and clubs and girls who work there. (When I was working full time in Ginza, mostly my friends were all hostesses and I was working in an 朝キャバ as well in Roppongi, that made me think about Japanese men and girls that they are superficial and that’s how the society is but I was generalizing but they are not all the same. And also the people who are fine with having affairs outside the marriage, they gather more at those places so better make friends outside that nightlife ) After saying all that,what I want to say and have said in my last comment,you choose your friends and your partner.first know what you want in your partner rather than choosing someone by their race. generalizing any nation or something absurd. Let’s talk about sexless marriage in cheating. In USA, 20 percent of married couples are sexless in Japanese its 47 percent. Yes in japan it’s higher. Cheating: in USA, 35 percent of women and 45 percent of men have admitted to have emotional affair and 20 percent physical. In japan: men (38 percent), women 18 percent have admitted to have cheated on their partners. Better don’t generalize and see the individual. And relating to suicide, japan is 14th in world’s suicide rate list. (That’s horrible but again suicide is not only Japan’s problem)Let’s talk about feminism now as you’ve mentioned .I’m feminist myself. I agree when it comes to feminism Japan is really backward but again the younger generation is different and let’s not generalize again. But I’m disgusted sometimes when in a social gathering you are given an obvious gender role. Not all women in Japan is ok with sexism. There are many npo’s who working for equal rights. (Look up ueno chizuko one of the first feminist researchers on women history in japan)But some are ok with it and it’s not only in Japan. Feminism in my definition is about freedom. I can not force my feminist ideas to other women and make fun of them based on my views. That’s their way of life. But when it comes to law and policies and if their is sexism , that’s intolerable. Every society has its own problem, and most of the things that are mentioned does not only exist in Japan. Im sorry, your friends’ Marriage with Japanese women didn’t work. But that’s don’t make up all the international marriages in Japan. My point to my comment from beginning to the end is let’s see the individual not the race not defending Japan. I hope you understand. ....

Things you should do before dating and marrying a Japanese girl. 1. Learn their language and culture first. 2. Be real and genuine as much as possible. Don't let people treat you as an object. 3. Don't teach english for free. 4. Avoid cheating as much as possible but don't hide your charisma and attractive skills to others. 5. Know her real intention first why she wants to live in your home country and ask her if she really want to go and live there. 6. Tell her honestly that you wouldn't stay in Japan for more than 10+ years. 7. In the future, don't let her take the children away from you easily.

I'm saying this in a subjective perspective because there are people who find english easy and japanese hard or vice versa. It is a well known fact that if it's not our mother language it is going to be difficult since we basically are inputting the language in memories and not under our conciousness. I mean the reason we are so fluent in our mother language is that we speak it almost everyday so we unconciously know what to reply. The second you tick to another language it would becoma an issue This doesn't necessarily mean that we can't actually be fluent, it's just way more difficult

I once read an article about the issue of infidelity in Japanese marriages. It was stated that the husband cheats on the wife. But what surprised me was that fact that she was okay with it. The logic being that the other woman can have the husband’s body but she will never have his heart. That belongs to the wife.

I think you're spot on about Japan being a country for tourism but not so much for residence (for foreigners at least). Cultural misunderstandings... I've talked to enough Japanese people to get into those situations, speaking the language helps, but you also need to understand their culture, that may even be as or even more important. As for Dating in Japan, I will admit, it's different than here, but I also think japan adds an extra set of layers of difficulties to the concept. Now it's good that you make videos like this one with a realistic approach, I find it really silly how people think dating will automatically mean you'll find a good partner, when that sort of thing happens naturally whether you want it or not. You don't choose to meet the love of your life, it just happens (or it doesn't). The best approach to dating in Japan is probably to just go to Japan and not expect anything, just let it happen, whatever ends up happening.

Agreed, this is what I've been waiting for with 2020 it's made that hard AF to just let it happen since we have to resort to online dating. I miss going to college or working my old minimum wage jobs to meet girls and casually date. I think I met the love of my life that way and she got away (so i think anyways) we recently got in touch. So I'm hoping she didn't but I'll still see what happens out here. If I meet someone better than oh well.
@sebastianrubio9283 жыл бұрын
@@DatBoiJrSan408 I don't casually and I have big doubts about trying dating apps, I still managed to get a few girls, every time it just happened naturally, but yeah, as you grow older, it becomes a bit harder. At the same time you gota see the signs faster too, I don't know about you, but I've grown experienced enough to know when a girl is into me, to even know if she actually loves me or not before I even hit on her. The best way to get a new GF is in real life, just gota go out, gota go to different places. Love hits you when you don't really expect and that's how it should always be, it's not something you can create artificially. One of my cousins which I'm close to, he met his current GF waiting in line for the MCdonalds, they're been together for 12 years now and again all he was doing is waiting for some burgers and this older girl approached him and just talked to him, somehow that lead to a long relationship. She is awesome and actually she watches anime like us (my cousin and me). Work is pretty good place to meet new people, atm most of coworkers are girls and there's a lot of them, the only issue I got is some are way too young for me lol. You could say that some jobs are better to meet women, I guess.I do admit, my School and University years were too easy to meet new girls, with age it became a bit harder, but the best way for me at least is through work and I guess it's not the worst thing to find new friends and new friends circles (though I personally on purpose do note date close friends, in part because I know my female friends too well and we wouldn't be good together)

@@sebastianrubio928 isn’t work place and people at workplace conservative in japan? That being said i would say it’s more difficult to meet a girlfriend at work. I work in a big company in japan and people really only care about work. Any attraction or compliments are tabu here. And if you even smile at someone its just out of politeness. So i mean it is really difficult to find someone at work, not easy as you said. Tell me more of your experience please
@sebastianrubio9283 жыл бұрын
@@mariomaslik I don't live in Japan, but what you're describing I've heard many times before. I know some companies actively discourage coupes being formed, but it still happens, but very likely flourishes after work, probably while having some drinks. I've noticed this with some people from some countries, Japan, Germany, they're close minded and reserved (maybe shy), you get a few drinks in them and you get the real version. In Japan I gota admit, honne vs tatemae is really annoying to deal with, I've had problems with it myself (tourists and Japanese people I just happen to meet here). As you said, she could be smiling to you purely out of courtesy. I live in Europe, nobody gives a fuck if you date a co worker here.

I stopped dating here. In my home country, if a girl likes you, she *shows* it. If a girl wants nothing to do with you, she *shows* it. There is no confusion over how she feels. Here, I have experienced women consistently acting very nice towards me when I first meet them, and then when we get closer, they swing back and forth between acting like they are very interested one day and then acting like they want absolutely nothing to do with me the next by avoiding and ignoring me. Then they would go back to acting interested again days later. It has happened a number of times with different women. It was very stressful, confusing, and depressing. Eventually, I just said no more, assumed that I'm not a good fit for women here, and walked away from the dating scene here. No regrets.

Nobita, you've done it again. Something about your recent videos have me coming back and watching everything you've posted in the past 6 months. I wanted to say something about the cheating cultural differences between Japan and especially western cultures. I can totally understand why most would first relate the complications religion puts on a relationship. But what I found so interesting was actually the word 浮気。My girlfriend told me this word when we were talking about cheating norms in Japan. And then she explained the Kanji meaning and that was super interesting. This may be grasping at straws but if you look at the Kanji 浮, the words it most commonly defines is to float. or the sensation of floating. And then 気 commonly referring to mind or feeling. So if you put the two together you get "drifting mind" or "floating feeling". Many interviewers on KZbin will ask women what they consider to be cheating, you included. They often say something like "being physical isn't cheating, but if they develop feelings then it is." My girlfriend even had a similar opinion. Anyway my point is dragging on but I wanted to bring attention to the power words have. The English word "Cheat" is synonymous with lying or to swindle, hiding or evading. But the Japanese word 浮気 is more concerned with the unsteadiness of feelings and the mind. Oh how I love the power of words.

OMG this is soo true! Living in NY in 1999 I came across a LOT of Asian guys that wanted to date me just for the “experience”. They never told me if or when they were going back, even though a few wanted to marry me only after a few days. I realized that most of the time they wanted me to pay for them to go places and translate for them so they could talk to interesting-looking people. The ones that wanted to marry me commented a lot about my weight, friends, behavior, religion, and most looked down on me because I already had a child. It was frustrating to say the least!I am happy to say that I am married to a wonderful Asian man who loves me the way I am💚🐰🧡

Find your cultural engagement in Japan beyond go-nowhere relationships: museums, restaurants, shodo, temples, yamanobori, exploring back alleys, leaving Tokyo and Osaka behind, the satisfying hard work of learning JP language, onsens, shopping, gardens, chance encounters with strangers and on and on and on.
