I used to wash my hair twice a day everyday. I started to notice I was thinning out, and my scalp was itchy and flaky asf (even using a shampoo designed for that) and if I didn’t wash my hair it would be a nasty oily mess. I now wash my hair once a week (if that) and use apple cider vinegar with tea tree oil as a shampoo, and my hair is the healthiest it’s been, ever! No more oily hair, no flakes or itch, and it’s twice the volume it used to be. Would HIGHLY recommend not using shampoo everyday unless you have a medical condition or something.

This is how I discovered that I can actually grow a luscious beard. The hard part was learning how to groom it myself. It also comes with time. It didn't grow relatively evenly until I was in my mid twenties
@johndavis72572 жыл бұрын
I’ve also found that patience and trimming goes a long way. If I clean shave it takes me 6 months to get back to nice even stubble. Some hairs just grow crazy slow. Over time the slow spots catch up with the rest making it even out. My beard also didn’t grow well at all until I was 28 I could only grow a gotee or stash. The sides refused to do anything.
@kkeloo402 жыл бұрын
I agree. I didn't know i could grow a decent beard until i "accidentally" grew it for about 90 days. This is when the hairs will start creating a shape to the beard rather than laying down on your skin. 30 days of growth is a patchy stubble for me.

You're not supposed to shampoo your hair everyday. Dermatologists and professional hair stylists will tell you this. It strips the natural oils and causes the follicles to dry and break. It's best to wash your hair every 3-4 days depending on your activity level (sweating, debris, etc.)

Just wanna add to your point about shampooing: do what works for you. Just like you I am fighting dandruff, but the more I shampoo, the more it irritates the balance between healthy hair and scalp. If unsure about whether to shampoo once a week or twice a day, try one strategy two weeks each and see which makes you feel the most comfortable. Also about trimming body hair - lots of people in combat sports are completely clean shaven, so opponents can't get a grip on them. So I'd even say it makes you even more masculine :D

Hey Aaron, ive been watching your videos for years. Your videos have helped me grown from a young man into a gentlemen which I appreciate to the fullest. Honestly, I dont have a lot of male figures in my life who can give me advice about certain things so I follow certain channels like yours to fill that gap. I wanted to let you know that your thumbnail caught my eye. I hope you dont take this the wrong way but the thumbnail is a bit insensitive and offensive. I say this with respect. Gay men doing things that women do does not make something "gay", and to be honest using that statement is ignorant. A man who likes another man is obviously gay, but someone doing an action like shaving their legs doesn't make someone gay. Just like a gay man working on a car doesn't make that straight. I hope you understand this is not an attack but merely a area of learning. Hope your holidays were amazing and hope you and your lady had a safe new years eve. Regards friends,

@reeno13572 жыл бұрын
Wash it every day at least two times. Dont shave it, trimm it to an even length. Let it grow out slowly, milimeter for milimeter and take your time with it. You can also just try something small like a goatie first to accustom yourself of the new feeling and when you feel comfortable with this then is the time to let the sides grow. Trimming the upper lip is a must of course, otherwise it really gets annoying 😅 Its all about getting used to having a beard. My beard used to itch too until i got used to it.
@S.E.C-R2 жыл бұрын
@@reeno1357 I’m very used to having hair on my face, I’ve had facial hair in some form and capacity for over 35 years. I started with a stache in high school then went to a goat as it filled in for probably 30 years and started to let the sides grow about 5 years or so, but I’ve always kept it really short like scruff or stubble, except for the times I’ve tried to let it grow longer into an actual beard. It gets to a certain point though and back down to scruff it goes. Trust me, I’ve tried everything to get past that stage but I just can’t do it, I know this sounds dramatic, but it literally drives me insane. The heads are replaceable (2/$25ish) compared to Brio zero blade at $25 for one. They last a long time (a 2 pack lasts me probably a year and it’s rechargeable. You can’t go wrong!!

@Max Larson If it has “nothing to do with Gay people,” then why are you still referring to us as that term? Why not come up with another term for us? Also why should we be ok with the word that describes us, also meaning “stupid” or “lame?” Straight people act like we are suppose to be ok with people using our terms, to mean negative things.
@renny61512 жыл бұрын
@Max Larson Also you are from the 90’s, so I don’t expect y’all to be tolerant of LGB people, because you have a horrible history with that community. Also straight people don’t own the word “straight” too. Straight means “honest” or somebody that doesn’t use drugs, so stop trying to claim it as your own.

No it’s not. Why does femininity always get dumped on us? We like MASCULINITY and body hair. The stereotypes you see on tv, are not liked by the community. If you are femme in the community, you will have a hard time finding a guy.

Honestly the best thing I ever did years ago was to stop “washing/scrubbing” my face. I did it for years as a kid, in high school, etc. My skin never looked better than when I just stopped overdoing it. I could probably use some kind of cleanser every once in a while but honestly I rarely even touch my face in the shower anymore.

I once used a razor to shave my slight unibrow and accidentally cut a bit from my left brow, it looks a little weird today with a lack of hair, is there a way to make it grow back to that clean sexy dark normal eye brow?
@jacobrogers4619 Жыл бұрын
Probably not, you might be able to repair the scar. When I was a baby my sister accidentally tipped me over in my stroller while running and my eyebrow was gashed open on a rock. So I have a permanent scar in the right corner of my eyebrow, but my eyebrows grow so long and thick it covers it up.

Another thing: use a battery-powered or electric rotating file to shave down your calluses on your hands and feet. This is especially true for feet calluses in the summertime when you're typically wearing sandals or flip-flops because you want your feet to breathe.

"But don't trim too far or else your gonna look slow and weird" 😂 legit made me bust out a laugh. Great tip about cycling calones. As well as the trimmer, I went ahead and bought one...and yes I submitted Alpha M as where I heard them from. 👍 great video

I starting shaving my arms and chest the day I got serious about working out and getting more buff. To me, it was like the "extra mile" i felt when buying NEW running shoes or NEW gym pants or a NEW jujitsu gi: just FEELING the newness of the thing, made me feel more SERIOUS about what i'm doing. I would think "yeah, the bodybuilders shave, so if they do it, i'll do it. the Black belts get a new gi every belt, so I'll do it, too. Yeah, runners have new shoes every SEASON...i want to feel THAT serious about my running, etc..." The shaving was a GREAT mental reminder/motivator that I'm now a SERIOUS about it. I had a friend's wife ask me about it (i'm middle aged, her husband and I are old guys with extra hair and THINNING hair.) and i felt strong to say "yeah, it's workout thing." period. She was like "oh. yeah. you guys do that . I can see that." Then she asked her husband why he doesnt go to the gym with me anymore (!)

Trimming the arms and legs? Sorry, but I must disagree. I know a lot of women and I had some relationships and they all said the same: it's feminine/gay. Even girls/women don't shave the arms, so why should a man do sth like that? If you want to do it, ok, but if you want to do it just because you think it makes you handsome: don't waste your time

Why do people still see us as “feminine?” It’s a stereotype, most of us don’t live by it. We definitely like big muscles, hairy bodies, and beards. Not into the makeup wearing, skinny jeans wearing, hairless bodies, that the media pushes as the standard for the community.
