I do love reading, but for people who don't: If you want to get into reading more, you might want to try an app for your phone which works like an e-reader (On my phone, I've downloaded one that allows me to read tenths of thousands of books for free) and place it on your homescreen. It might work because if you grab your phone automatically, there's an instant reminder to read and it won't be more work than to open Instagram. I hope this helps!

I’ve heard of this concept of the “five second rule” applied to decision making, and you saying to “just get up” when you want to be a morning person reminded me of that, lol. You present yourself with a choice, and once 5 seconds pass you’ve basically decided to not do it already. So once you have the urge to do it, it’s oftentimes just best to do it without giving yourself the chance to question it!

Habits I try to do consistently... 1. Put an item back right after I use it (10 second rule from Matt D'Avela) 2. Prep/tidy up a space the night before (this really helps because I find that I tend to use cleaning as a method of procrastination.. related reading Atomic Habits) 3. Check notifs only after standing up from my bed 4. Leaving gadgets in the room after I do check notifs 5. Since I work from home... still have a time in/time out and not work just because I can Also, some suggested readings related to Krist's first 2 habits... 1. Make Time - listing out important tasks the night before 2. The 5am club - morning routine

Tip to become a morning person (if you have pets): set an alarm to feed your pets early in the morning. Over time they will learn that the sound of the alarm means they're about to be fed and will go nuts meaning you will struggle to fall asleep. It'll also make you feel guilty if you don't respond to the alarm and get up and feed them at that time. It will also make you feel obligated to wake up at that time too. (personal experience)

I am currently working on being a morning person! I'm renting room, basically like apartment, and last week I just moved in to a room with balcony (straight to the street) and windows to catch natural sunlight even just by sitting on my desk! Previous room, I can't even distinguish am to pm from the inside. So grateful because this balcony room is really a fight to get since lots of us want it. I started waking up at 7 or 8, self-caring for 2 hours and then do chores, la la la until I cook for lunch and get my work done. I'm a final year student only left with thesis and currently building some creative business, so this environment really helped!! What I'll be trying to do from this video, is kind of the MOVING part! Even tho I do clean my own room, I do want to have some scheduled work out plans so I'll be looking and start working on it soon! 🌥️🌟

Yes! I can 100% attest to at least half of what you said. I very much recommend getting up when you wake up, like, I used to be one of those people that would wake up and mindlessly watch KZbin for an hour before I got up, but let me just say: getting up when you wake up is a GAME CHANGER. Also, with the journaling, if you don’t want to commit to a full journal entry, I’d strongly recommend a bullet-point gratefulness journal (just writing out 3 or more things that you’re grateful for every other day (or more often)).
@Leafveins4 жыл бұрын
Yes to more sharing. I think I was really hating on myself because I was believing and self perpetuating the lie that sharing on social media isn't "good" or "valuable" and that I was conceited or shallow for wanting to do that. But I only thought that about myself, I loved going on IG and see what people were up to but for some reason I had put myself into a negative self talk spiral where I was convincing myself I was shitty person for wanting to do that. I'm practicing more self talk, and I think more journaling will help too. Thank you for making this video, it made me so happy and calm to watch it!

Funny how I already knew I should do all of these things to have a more proper relaxing and happy life but I was always taking back because my brain thought I had to find something more difficult.
