my ultimate beauty tip is just...imagine you're a princess or a warrior or a mage or something. when you visualise yourself as something powerful, your posture immediately strengthens, you make better decisions too, like: would i, a warrior, keep my hair in a nest or will i, a warrior, tie it up in a huge practical, beautiful braid and get on with my day? this also helps mentally, so for example if you catch yourself being all jealous or resentful, just literally go: is the warrior in me going to take this bullshit, or is she going to be mature about this? manifestation really works wonders for me, so for anyone who vibes with aesthetics and visual processing - please do give this a try! it literally takes 2 secs after you wake up to imagine you're a dragon, do it!!!

I never really "noticed" because it was so normal for me until i had my own life. I asked her why and she said it's for her own sake, her attitude and grace she regards for herself. I really liked that and i always make an effort too.

I absolutely loved how, at 13:20 , you started to talk about the damage of overdoing anything and obsessing over something can be more damaging even though the thing that you are overdoing may seem healthy. I feel like a lot of people could relate to this because there are so many individuals who set the bar high because of not only what the media shows but also society's high demands. This video was definitely beneficial, and I can't wait to see your next video!!

Absolutely agree. But on the flip side, in my region there is a culture of "beauty is vain, trying at all makes you high maintenance and means youre insecure, trying to be healthy means youre stuck up" even when what you're doing is taking a holistic, wholesome approach to bettering your life. There is always a balance! Too far in either direction is unhealthy.

@user-jy9rq8nj7q3 жыл бұрын
You can try changing your mindset surrounding makeup. Ask yourself why do you wear it? or want to wear it? for me, it's a cute self pampering morning routine that helps me wake up, i do my skincare and makeup while drinking water/tea/coffee and listening to music. It's also a really good way to incorporate mirror work into your day. Doing your skincare routine is such an act of self love- it's physical touch, quality time, and acts of service to yourself. doing it first puts you already in a positive headspace while you do your makeup. I believe the type of makeup everyone should do is artistic and/or to accentuate your natural beauty and features. It should be fun, seeing your face as a canvas rather than a flaw. And wearing minimal makeup you wont look so different taking it off. it's important to have those off days of wearing no makeup for your skin and your mental well being, to check in with yourself and see how much of a dependancy you have on makeup to feel beautiful.
@nisemomo_3 жыл бұрын
i personally find it has the opposite effect on me! i wear pretty natural makeup, just darkening my eyebrows and doing a tiny bit of eyeshadow, and i think it actually helps me appreciate my facial features and structure even after i take it off. try out some different styles, you might find one that works for you!
@minoalymeg3 жыл бұрын
You’re not alone I also feel the same! I only wear makeup on special occasions or when I feel like it (when you want to extra pamper yourself or treat yourself). I don’t know if this will help you but privilege having a good skincare routine instead of doing makeup if you don’t want to. You’ll have a natural glow

Such an important point: Self-care is not selfish. Being selfish is not self-care. Vanity is not self care, or selfish. It's about falling to the deep insecurities we face when being judged by our appearance. Stay beautiful, people (including me. I'm not an expert. :) ). Our beauty is so much more than skin deep. :)
@mpGreen033 жыл бұрын
About dressing up even when home, where I live there is a thing from old times that clothes that you wear outside in the city, work, school etc is more expensive, and therefore you should not wear same clothes at home as it is seen as wasteful. It's not like I judge anyone for wearing nice clothes at home but I just have this mindset engrained into my brain since I was little that I would feel weird trying to wear my nice stuff at home xD. Plus bras, hate them all.
@_tripalong2 жыл бұрын
I agree with u on the bra hate 😅 but as someone who's been raised to have that exact mindset of outside vs. stay-at-home clothes, I've come to realize it just makes you put too much value on the "outside clothes", even those you don't really wear... and then overuse your everyday pieces so they end up looking worn out af, making you look (and feel) messy, lazy and less confident when you're home. IMO the motivation is worth the sacrifice of using up "outside clothes" bc when I wear old tees and worn out sweatpants, I tend to sit and slouch instead of getting to work yknow 😅

@ashleycooperpop3 жыл бұрын
Hey Joan! I know you commented this awhile ago but I have some tips that I found from certified fitness coaches: 1. Weight gain could be muscle mass - if you feel stronger, the workouts are becoming easier, getting more toned, it could just be muscle mass! 2. Make sure you’re in a calorie deficit - this doesn’t mean restricting yourself and not eating enough nutrients, but there are a lot of great videos on how to accomplish calorie deficits. 3. Positive mindsets - treating yourself well, talking to yourself in a kind voice, etc. Makes a big difference in your overall motivation and mindset when trying to lose weight! 4. Look at your diet, what are you eating? Is it balanced with healthy foods and foods you indulge in? Are certain foods not reacting well with your body? Sometimes certain foods could contribute to these concerns! 5. Are you targeting different muscle groups? It’s important to change your workouts occasionally to make sure your body isn’t becoming too used to it. I hope this helps, and of course, make sure you’re allowing yourself to indulge in some less healthy things! Sometimes overworking can also be an issue! You could workout less but alter your workouts so they’re longer and focus on different things. Wishing u the best on ur fitness journey!
