Another good video. I’m going to play my first tournament this year a few actually. I can’t find any videos on how to run up on a fairway lie without a foot fault. Is there any tips or tricks to this? Maybe do a video?👍 for now I usually do a stand still or one step.

Don’t have a video on that yet, but what are you struggling with? 2 important things to suggest/remember: 1- Don’t use a marker to replace your disc in the fairway. The bigger profile of the disc makes it easier to know where to plant your foot 2- Remember that you are allowed to step ahead of the marker after you released your disc. Therefore, it’s ok to follow through and be ahead of the marker afterwards 👍

On a run up . After your first throw…You have to step in an area the size of a sheet of paper behind your marker or it’s a foot fault Correct? If I try to run up I step on my disc, right or left of it or too far behind it. So I usually just do a one step or standstill. If I try looking at my disc on a run up I really mess up my throw. I’m new and my average throw is less than 200’ so on a 600’ hole every extra feet I can get helps 😬

@@timh8976 It's actually an 8 inch by 8 inch box that you have behind the disc, which gives you a decent amount of room. Honestly, with practice it will become second nature. At the same time, there is room to not be perfectly in the box. If you watch our RULES video, it explains that you can be off a bit, and don't have to have your entire foot in the box. As long as the majority of your foot is in the box, you are good! In the mean time, it's always good idea to practice planting your further back than too close. It's very rare that someone will call you on a foot fault if you are a bit further back from your marker upon releasing (unless it plays to your advantage).

You can also substitute beers for water. Very hydrating, and delicious. Just don't litter.
