As an android user I did have some issues with android auto in the beginning mainly because the wired connection was disconnecting a lot. From what I've seen the previous update solved the issue and it works flawlessly ever since, but I hope that Lexus/Toyota will make android auto wireless in the future, like many new cars have now.

They do have wireless in North America... it's just some licensing some unknown reason why they cannot offer it in Europe/Australia. But I heard it's coming soon with a software update. The car will totally capable of wireless Android Auto.

Is the update only for 2022 model year? My 450 lists its software version as 1030 with ‘No updates at this time’? Is the 2170 a later version of the 1030/ 1050 or something different? Is this software update only performed through a dealer or will it update at home as well? Thanks again LDFT - great channel

This is for all 2nd generation updates. It's possible in different regions the distribution is different. 2170 is after 1030/1040. We can update it via OTA, but I'm not sure about Australia.

@@lsft Hi LSFT, I found that the 2170 update first has to be approved in Australia by ADR. Its currently in process and given that our bureaucrats are painfully slow to do anything it might be a while to get released!

Interesting and detailed information, although this update is not yet rolled out in Europe. On my side, I don't really recognize issues that I actually have, as a European and Android user. Let's see what we get on our side with the next update !

@@lsft Well, regarding Lexus Link+, we receive regular new releases (the latest one was the 2.8.1, received a couple of weeks ago), but I don't see significant modifications. More stability was already provided after the first releases (it works now pretty well), also a few more functionalities (ability to download trips, more remote controls), but this is not recent. And we are still waiting for the ability to use Lexus Link+ to plan a navigation destination, which was announced at the beginning but was never delivered (we still need to use Navibridge for this function, in the meantime). Nothing more about Lexus link+ !...

My 2023 NX350 has an annoying habit. I never know what will appear on the screen when I start the engine. I would think it would be the last screen viewed but it's not. It can be navigation, radio or something else. In addition I never listen to AM radio but sometimes it comes on when the vehicle is started. This can happen at anytime but I only listen to Serius Radio when in the car.

Very interesting... my mostly goes to CarPlay, but when connections have issues it might end up with the map or settings... I don't remember if it was ever the last screen.

Battery Charging LSFT - Has Lexus improved the charging algorithm for the auxillary battery? As we know the charging voltage stays at 12.8 volts while the car is in 'drive'. Only when it is in 'park' or 'neutral' will the charging voltage increase to a proper 13.6 or 14.2 volts. This is why the auxillary battery is kept at an unacceptably low voltage (averages around 12.0 to 12.2 volts).

I took mine in on Monday. Said take it to the dealer immediately. They still haven't called me about my car. The car said it was a major electrical issue affecting the breaking, transmission and some other electrical system. I continue to have problems with CarPlay 23 NX450H+

When you lock your car, did it beep a number of times occasionally?(5-8) It happened to me a few times and I thought I didn’t close the door properly, but that wasn’t the case. I relocked it and it only beeped once as usual.

Typically it's a reminder that you may have something in the back seats. Did you open the back door before you start the car?

There has been an update in Europe. I believe the latest version is 2050 in Europe.

I have a 2022 NX 250 Premium and recently got a software update but to 2150. Is 2170 only for some models/years?

Check if you have HU 2170 and VD 2150?

@@lsft Under Software updates it just says Voice Recognition. It also says no software updates are available. I do not have a Lexus Navigation subscription. I only use Carplay for maps.

@@lsft Thanks. I did find 2170 under Model Info. BTW, I am no longer having an issue with popups requesting my PIN number. The latest software upgrades may have solved that problem.

Either you are in Europe or Australia. The 2170 is for North America at this point and Wireless Android Auto is available for us since the beginning. I heard that we might see it sometime late 2024.

@@lsft Off topic question When in D (drive) want to go paddle shift I move shifter to the back and I use paddles (driving) then I want to go to automatic transmission again (still driving) how do I do it? You have to go to neutral then D drive? Or just move shifter farward? Thank you
