I think certain behaviors that were taken for granted back in my day are no longer taught. Simple things like not entering an auditorium when a play or musical score is happening was just understandable and expected back in the day. It’s very likely the person in charge of the performances that day has no idea he/she was being disrespectful. This is not to excuse the behavior but only to offer one other possible explanation.

I too am a Marine, and I would say (personally) that it's only Moderately disrespectful. At the end of the day, The Marines are there to do a Job, but so are the Players... and the Marines are on players' turf, so I can understand it... Plus, the players probably see this sort of thing Relativley Often and probably kind of filter it out so it doesn't distract them from the game. I still think it's mad disrespectful, but... I can also understand the players' point of view.

@TheWasatchCrown 100% My guess is that it was probably Marine Leadership that led to that happening... Lt. Or, they might have genuinely thought it was ending and didn't realize there was still a minute or two left in the routine.

Please excuse the NFL who should know no one should be on the field during the silent drill or until the Marines exit as a sign of respect. Their years of woke-ism must have made them loose their sense of timing. The reason the NFL has the Freedom and Liberty to hold a game in a massive stadium free of conflict is because of a soldier. These men are the best of the best working in our beloved Corps. Thank you for showing us them again, they always make me swell with pride, my stomach hurts from not wanting to breathe as they preform, its so entrancing. God bless them and protect them as they go about their daily lives and defending low lives as well as those of us who cherish them. OOhRah Devil Dogs! Semper Fidelis!

I also believe if they had stated they’d be out there as soon as the men got off the field it would’ve been ok. But they were contracted to be there at that time as professional players and match officials. That is their job and contractual obligation... be there, on the ground at 'X, Y and Z' time. (Or financial ruin may happen if you get sued for not complying) If you pay their financial penalties for being late for starting the football game, I'm sure that they would help out. And be happy for the wonderful drill display, continue past deadline, for an extra 30 to 60 seconds. People paid to watch the game... on TV or in person.... Lets see..... TV network transmission delayed (a slot in a pre-booked system) Advertising (contracted and paid for).... whoops..... might have to pay $10 million back, if we miss a little of that. Satellite network hire on spot rates........ geez we missed the slot a little.... still have to pay anyway. Venue hire and the huge logistics going into that.... oop's, all around the place.

I was amazed at what I saw from those Marines. That was amazing, the amount of work, dedication, and camraderie it took to do that silently is off the charts. And to be clear, no one goes into the military with a drill specialty, most, if not all, of those gents might be combat veterans. It was highly disrespectful for not just players but other staff to be on the field before they exited. Especially since it was made clear that they represented all eras of Marines, which includes those who have given their lives. Not sure who is to blame, whether it was media, team, or NFL but this was a big mistake and it deserved a public apology. We don't see the whole screen but I do hope there were those who realized the mistake and either moved off the field or didn't go on in the first place. I'm an Army vet. The upside down V on their shoulders, the chevrons, indicate their rank, which also can indicate how long they've been in the Marines. Most of them were privates and corporals, meaning they've only been in the Marines for a few years. These aren't old soldiers who have done this for decades. @Tyrannosaurus_STFU_III6 ай бұрын
Good try, not really completely accurate. There are no privates out there. Everyone is at minimum a Lance Corporal (e-3) that's 1 chevron and crossed rifles underneath. 2 chevrons indicates a Corporal which is a NCO. The chevrons aren't upside down. You have the chevron and crossed rifles until Staff NCO which is E-6. Then you get a rocker underneath the chevrons from that point on when you make rank. The hash marks on the sleeve near the wrist indicate 4 years of service per hash. Those are all very young Marines. That's what's so impressive.

My son is a Marine Veteran and once a Marine, ALWAYS a MARINE! I started America's Flag Truck 16 years ago when my son enlisted, and it's main purpose is to honor our Military and Veterans and their Families! 🇺🇸 AMERICA 🇺🇸

@deborahl.goforth3295 I could never get in during the Vietnam War & my draft number was 25. I now do what I can to help & acknowledge our Veterans!But thank you.

I said this to someone else that, whether our child, our parents or any member of our family served that we served as well and that is why I thanked you. I was in the USAF, my dad was USN, my husband was USAF, his brothers were USMC and my son was USAF and it has long been acknowledged that if any member of your family served then you had served too because of the support we give them.

Giving me goosebumps I’m proud to be American. My father was World War 2 veteran. He was a MP and I will never forget how proud I am to be his child

I truly appreciate your sincere honesty and respect. I would not have seen anything like this on my own. I came across this video. I love your accent. Your respect for real heroes, and I am an anime nerd, so I love your background.

I so agree with you that no one other than the Marines should be on the field. This is very disrespectful.
@colonelfustercluck4865 ай бұрын
Do the Marines, own, lease or rent that field? Who-ever lawfully pays the lease or rent has occupation of the field. What about the off-field items, like TV and Satellite channel slots..... pre-paid. ON-field logistics, food, drink, waste disposal... everything And the pre-paid advertising..... the Marines paying that, or are you contributing to the penalties.....

@@colonelfustercluck486 no one is suggesting that it's in any way their property or responsibility. someone invited them. that someone, is paying for and/or responsible for all those things you cited. the marines didn't just show up to intrude and disrupt those things. and virtually none of those things were disrupted by their presence. those football players could have waited a couple minutes without any cost to your list of strawmen. and all of that is irrelevant to the concerns of these posters. this is simply a matter of respect. for which they clearly have none. am i the only one not surprised by their behavior? or your totally off the mark response?

Me. Too. So disrespectful to our Marines.

Instead of just agreeing, I want to thank you, Andre. My father was a marine sergeant and I have always been in awe of the silent drill team. They are very young marines and train constantly for months to perform these routines. I said thank you because not many people are as respectful as you, even here, sadly. You are completely correct in saying the players were disrespectful.

My dad was a marine sergeant as well! So proud of him and all marines!
