God I miss car forums from c. 2007. The old "56k connections beware" build threads... Most of the ones that I frequented are ghost towns full of broken tinypic/photobucket pictures. Social media just isn't the same feeling.

It’s unacceptable how fast [slow] the pod channel is growing.

Coyne is actually right about m5-s in Bulgaria. They are more popular than the m3 especially the e60 m5, since those are dirt cheap and young guys want to look like russian gangsters so they get them for like 20k$usd drive them for a couple of months untill they eventually break and the guy has no money to fix it so he sells it to the next young guy who has watched Scarface one too many times. Shoutout from Bulgaria!

You guys should watch Craig Lieberman on youtube, he was the technical advisor for the first 3 Fast and Furious movies. According to him they often ignored his advice to make the script make more sense.

I miss car forums as well. Used to frequent j-body.org in the early to mid-2000s. One thing about car forums is that several big ones were purchased by a company called Internet Brands. They own Audi World, ClubLexus, Corvette Forum, F150online, Honda-Tech, MBWorld, YotaTech and RacingJunk. They ramped up the paid advertising on these sites, which took away from the enthusiast-centered experience of the sites.

The delay of the Jack Diamond series was my biggest 2020 disappointment.

The way I understood that scene was that the car had a salvage title but still a legal Vin number. They would steal an orange supra and swap the VINs. Then the 15 grand would be in performance parts.

It’s definitely the last chance to get a cherry Miata. Park it in the garage and buy a beater you can track.

I keep forgetting to come through and toss in my 2 cents on the ECT PWR button discussion (I listen audio only at work). It's kinda like John said. It holds the gears longer. Basically half as much throttle to wind out the motor and hit the powerband. I suppose it gives a little more economic acceleration but I think the main use for it is just traction because of how lower gear ratios help you grip. So I guess it helps you grip by not shifting into the higher gears under normal driving without needing to use the PRND2L to control it yourself. Where I live that's not a problem though and the vehicles I've owned with it were a '98 Avalon and '93 Camry 2.2 which are both fairly light and have a higher powerband in the rev range so it was noticeable in them. In the trucks you don't feel anything like Coyne said.

Sup Bros, thanks for spreading some joy on an otherwise dismal year, here's hoping 2021 will be a marked improvement, looking forward to Jack Diamond's Garage! Happy Holidays and see you next year on the big 7-6!

Speaking of your NSX Odyssey engine burn, I've driven a 2005 Ody with the 3.5, but the engine broke and we replaced it with a used one and the dudes dyno tuned the engine. I wouldn't be surprised if it could keep up in a drag race with an NSX, with the seats out of course lol. Then the transmission went at 350k miles and we got rid of it.

I was listening to this while driving my shitbox old Miata and almost got cut off by a Hyundai. Hits too close to home.

If they did pop the hood and it was an LS3 that would be real surprising, seen how the LS3 didn't come out till 2008.

What up Bros, so the ECO mode in the SRT jeep deactivates 4 cylinders to get better fuel economy. You go from having 10 mpg to 16-18 mpg with ECO mode and also makes the throttle response slower.

I'd like to think the word "ajar" used for the "doors ajar" warning came from a dude at marketing trying to impress a girl at the Chrysler factory with his vocabulary as she sticks the PWR sticker on a dark gray button that will save the company a total of 0.002cents per gray button moulding.

other hilarious old badges include "front wheel drive" on 70s subarus, and "antilock brake system" on various cars i wonder if they geniunely thought someone would walk down the street in 1998, see a daewoo leganza and go "woah, it has antilock brakes? that's super sexy, i'm getting one of those" and as for the "drive a sonata for millions of dollars", what are the details? like you said, can I mod the sonata? can it be a really old sonata?

what is the napoleon complex equivalent of someone who bought a car in auto when there is a manual option? "The automatic V6 mustang is actually 6 seconds faster around the ring than the manual one" ULTIMATE hypothetical: 50 million; no riding in friends' cars, no bikes, no helicopters. Car is a sunset bronze nissan murano convertible. If weather permits you gotta drive it with the top down.
