I will do so. However, much to my surprise, both were empty. I thought the tools were missing. I did find them, eventually, under the seat! Good idea 😀

For navigation only do you require data on? Obviously for phone calls to headset you'd need it on....not than anyone would want phone calls while out riding,cheers

Data not required so long as you download the map region to the phone via home wifi 👍

The gps mount is for when you are out in middle of nowhere far away from cell towers. Satellite gps works regardless so It's a good idea to have both.

yes, the app is great around the cities - here in Australia we have many wide open spaces with little cell tower assistance so a GPS is a boon. Sitting reading maps and making decisions is lovely on the morning of every multi day trip (I still love paper maps). The the GPS keeps distances and other info at hand as you go.

Not when I had it. It used its own maps, downloaded onto the app.

I Have the aventure R but on my tft is no nav or pairing option as said in the manual? Do i have old firmware?

That's how mine was when I got it. Dealer updated it at first service and Nav appeared and works fine - good luck!

Codger Biker thanks for reply. Will have 1st service soon and hopefully then my ride navi will function. But this strategy by KTM makes no sense to me?!why they don‘t give the full updated firmware for this price! I‘m disapointed

I think it was a mistake in the first build. They are putting it right. At least that is what I was told. The app works okay on the road, but I prefer a GPS. I hope you have it soon!

I dont have the navigation option in the my ride menu. does it mean that Ive the old firmware?

Mine was the exactly same when I got it. At first service they updated the firmware and it appeared and worked for free. I would contact the dealer for an update.

@@CodgerBiker Agree. For serious navigation I plan to mount a rugged smartphone above the display where theres the mount for classic navigation system. Just havent found a mount yet that fitst there (for the smartphone)

Yes I’m thinking the same. But with a TomTom Rider. I can fit it to the handlebars fine, but would prefer it above the TFT. I’ve seen a few mods using the ‘blanking’ gps plate. I may try it soon. I did see a picture of an SW-Motech mount. It may be worth looking on their site. Doubtless there will be many options in the next few months. The built in navigation is very basic, but it works after a fashion.

Hi Codger, I've got exact same bike and find the autoblipper when changing done pretty rough. Feels like I'm stressing the transmission drive-chain too much, is yours the same? (Enjoying the videos, please keep them up.)

Hello SaladDodger'. It's okay so long as I close the throttle first, I sometimes forget. I guess I'm a bit old school and like to do it myself and ease the engine breaking in - years of locking up the back wheel , ha ha! I do like the Quickshifter though, so perhaps it's something I'll adapt to. The bike is a keeper though, don't you think?

Yes that was the same in the 790 Adv. Does the bike have Bluetooth pairing to your phone and Navigation menus? If so it might well work. There should be a Facebook group or online forum for the bike, they will know for sure.

Duke 390 has same display module, it has bluetooth connectivity and my ride option. But there is no navigation option. Can you post a screenshot of your bike display when using navigation ? To the extent i know duke 390 can support navigation, but it seems ktm decided not to provide the feature to duke 390 users.

No problem. I use the App quite often, even though I also have a TomTom 550. It is convenient as it requires only my phone, which I always take.

BMW drivers .... Audi drivers .... Actually driving any SUV turns a normal person into a stupid one. In addition, it looks like the most expensive cars have the strongest effect. Unfortunately, Sometimes, it is the same with motor bikes...

shows some normal-looking people feel entitled I think. It's a form of bullying to have in your head "I'm in a car, I'm bigger than them" ..... the times I've confronted drivers with the realisation they're not terribly menacing outside of their cocoons.
