In my so far 8 months of casually studying hunting/ELR rifles, I must say that is the most beautiful ELR rifle I have seen yet. I am curious, though, for such long shots, why use a scope that has "only" 25x max zoom? Aren't there scopes that give perfectly good clarity with 36x and even more?

@@markandsamafterwork This is like getting a free education! *I don't expect you to even read this whole comment, I apologize for rambling, I'm still at that childlike excitement stage. I'm 54yrs old & grew up with my own 22 and 12gauge break-barrel when I was 12-13 before Canadian laws changed. Only got around to getting my license about 8 months ago.* I'm in the market for a scope that'll handle both < 200m hunting shots (deer, likely in British Columbia) and some long range practice (< 1000m to get started, likely 600m). 3020 yards, with a wind like that, is incredible. The math, the skill, the equipment, the hard work, the patience, the diligence, the EXPENSE, and of course, nonsensical firearm restrictions both our countries continue to face. (I'm in Canada, so we have the ridiculous image of a queen on our money too). Oh, and thanks also for listing all the gear/ammo in the description. I got super interested in ELR shooting since I saw a video of that Russian dude "Snapman", and your channel popped up as a suggestion. Calibers I'm considering are: 30-06, .270, 7mm rem mag, 6.5 PRC. Ammo costs have me leaning toward 30-06 or 7 rem mag, but I'm taking all the advice I can get. I know a 308 or 6.5CM can handle what I want, but I'm getting a rifle I intend to keep 'forever' & will err on the side of "more". I'm pretty strong, my shoulder can take it. Your other video of hitting 3k yard with a 30-06 makes that versatile caliber a good inspiration. I'm gonna spend around $2k CDN for a scope, the same for a rifle. I've been doing homework, and so far I'm considering a 5x-25x with a 52mm or 54mm reticle. I don't want to have the reticle getting too close to the barrel & get heat mirage from it. I'm going to have it mounted properly by a gunsmith, but I'm going to boresight it & zero it myself. Is Swarovski a good brand? Or is there any consistency with particular brands? I'll see what your linked video has to say first. For a rifle, my KZbin university degree to this short list: SAKO S20 Hunter SAKO 90 Hunter (wood stock + stainless steel barrel) Benelli Lupo BEST (only if I save some $ on a scope). I want threaded barrel for muzzle brake & maybe someday a suppressor. I want at least a 22", but prefer a 24" barrel, though SAKO tend to only offer 30-06 in 20" barrels in hunting models. Due to tariffs on American brands, I'm focusing on Finnish/Italian rifles & accessories. I consider shopping American "local", I've always loved the US, but lately...well, I won't start anything on your channel, lol. There's no way I'm going to pay 25% more unless it's absolutely necessary. That's like charging your own brother to stay in your spare room. We bled the sand red in Afghanistan alongside the Amer....hang on, I said wouldn't do that, haha.. Great channel, and thanks again.
