Surviving a lightsaber stabbing always baffled me. Up until the Disney plus shows, it used to be an unspoken rule in Star Wars where, if you get impaled on a lightsaber, you died. Every movie and video game and tv show up til them followed it. Then Obiwan came along and said "nah, if you want to survive a lightsaber fight, get stabbed."

This is incorrect. There are Characters that survive lightsaber stabs in clone wars and multiple video games, obi wan is far from the first time this was done.

I take umbrage with the TIME the lightsaber is in Sabine and Reva. They're stabbed and the blade lingers. Hot plasma, like a lightsaber, DESTROYS just by touching things, hence why the lightsaber can burn through a blast door (still one of the coolest usages of lightsaber I've seen). If it was a quick thrust and pulled out, sure they could possibly survive. But even in a nonvital area, Sabine doesn't have a liver. It's destroyed, along with much of her intestines. I won't even get into how plasma makes water go 'pop' in short order. I've only seen in LEGENDS quick thrusts. In my opinion, the time the lightsaber lingered in Sabine and Reva killed them. Not the initial stab. And you can't tell me the lightsaber can melt blast doors just by sitting there for seconds, but the HUMAN body could sustain the same treatment and survive. Just watch that scene in Ep 1 as the door is melting, SO AWESOME. The human body doesn't stand a chance against that.

The mistake you're making is viewing Star Wars as Sci-Fi; it isn't. It's Space Opera Fantasy. This world is complete nonsense if you try to apply actual science to it, always has been. Technically, the Lightsabers should just insta-kill anyone who turns one on. Actual Science should NEVER be applied to Star Wars - this is pure Fantasy Magic that just happens to take place in Space.

If people want to talk about what a lightsaber would 'realistically' do, the plasma should instantly vaporize the entire area around it aka Obi-Wan's death. It's a space fantasy, there could be hundreds of explanations for people surviving a stab. With all the different specialties that Force users can develop, maybe Qui Gon just lacked a lightsaber resistance ability. Or since he was the first to learn to Force Ghost, he didn't really care to fight for his life and wanted to haunt Yoda.

Its funny that no one talks about time in case of Qui-Gon Jinn. We saw in the phantom menace how long it took for the shields to open. Long enough for Qui Gon to meditate and make himself ready. Obi-Wan had to wait a while longer than we saw on screen, until he could end this duel with Maul. It's impressive that Qui-Gon survived this long, but when Obi-Wan was finished, it was already too late for Qui-Gon. Kylo Ren got instantly healed by Rey, Sabines rescue was already arriving and in case of Reva and the Great Inquisitor their hatred and Sith powers kept them alive and in case of the Great Inquisitor we don't even know his species and how his organs are placed. And since we could nether see how Anakin hit Reva the first time nor how long she was without medical treatment back at the Temple this is not nesessarily an issue. And since we don't know the origin of the orange crystal in Hatis Lightsaber It's even possible that thats a Kohlen crystal, that are known to create low intensity lightsaber blades, which would even explain, why Sabine so quickly recovered from that wound.

It's a problem that the fans have to try to create their own head Canon explanations to make sense of Disney logic. But since that's what we have to do I'll say that a lightsaber being stabbed thru u and left in u for a couple seconds should logically basically guarantee that characters end. Even if u want to say it's a low intensity blade it's still so hot that it gets pushed thru her body like its butter, which means it would b hot enough to cook her insides. Disney has watered down lightsabers so bad they usually just bounce off of people now.

​@@jacobjackson2787 dude, no one is justifying anything, it's common sense, imagine a sword going through your stomach, spine and puncturing or rupturing your aorta or other important arteries, then compare that to having that same sword cutting through your intestine, thrust between your kidney and your gallbladder, the second one may not be nice nor something you can walk out but with enough time and a good surgeon survivable while the first one is very likely resulting in death or in a lesser case something like resulting in a paraplegic or cuadraplegic state.

I always told myself that Dooku wasn't a sith, just didn't agree with the Jedi and in that time there weren't other options really. It was an earlier time in the galaxy and no one had challenged the Jedi in 1000 years so by leaving the Jedi, Palpatine picked him up because Dooku was so powerful. But Dooku didn't want to destroy the Jedi or rule the galaxy, he just wanted a government that represented his ideals. He didn't get any of it because it didn't take long for BigPoppa Palpatine to realize that dooks wasn't really buying into the sith dogma either. Fear leads to anger, anger to hate and hate to suffering. Well Dooku never hated anything. Mostly he disagreed with the Jedi, and they treated him like a villain for it.

That's the least believable, I'll give you that, but still, young, healthy, whatever. She survived. Qui-Gon was older, and, most importantly, Dude knew the secret to becoming a Force Ghost, so it's not like he really needed to cling to life, anyway.

"Darth Vader" isn't Dutch for anything, least of all "dark father" that's a myth. Vader wasn't even Luke's father when the story was written. It comes from the word "invader" without the "in" like Darth Sidious is insidious without the in. Yeah, just that easy. Lucas wasn't trying to be cutesy, he was starting his trend of "Darth Badguyname"

Maul survives being sliced in half by a lightsaber and then falling an extreme distance and nobody cares. When Sabine gets stabbed everyone loses their shit. I agree that an awful lot of people have survived getting stabbed and left for dead recently though. I just sort of assume Qui-Gon got stabbed in the heart or lungs instead of the gut.
