Her 6 year old forgot to pack her lunch (who makes a six year old pack their own lunch?!) and the teacher called asking her to bring her something and she said no because that was the consequence for forgetting to pack it! @Ayreon-TECsystem8 ай бұрын
The total on paper is 60 years, but there is a law in Utah that states they can only sit for 30 years. So jail for 4 to 15 years but maximum of 30 years. The parole board in Utah will decide how much it's going to be, but that will take a long time.

I hope she stays in prison at least long enough for the youngest child to turn 18. All of her children should absolutely have the privilege to never be forced to see their mother again. Pointing this out is also important because it shows how her husband was going along with the abuse and that is something that needs to said more so that he doesn’t get custody of the kids, maybe visitation? But honestly, he never stepped in the whole time his kids were being abused and hidden at Jodi’s home, his inaction speaks volumes.

Both of the Franke parents (Ruby & Kevin) were horrific to their kids during the time 8 Passengers was up. But, once Jodi was involved, it went from "cruel" to "horror film". She made it a lot worse. Much of the awful punishments that Jodi and Ruby have been convicted for, Jodi also did to her niece, Jesse. So the sadism was definitely led by Jodi, but that doesn't excuse Ruby - she went along with it and actively participated. Also, just because Kevin wasn't involved in the ab-se that was prosecuted, he still should NEVER have custody of the kids. Why? He never stopped it, never stepped in, didn't check on the two youngest kids for at least a year (the two who had all the awful stuff done to them), allowed Jodi and Roby to do all of this, and tried to have his eldest daughter (who went above and beyond to try and stop this and protect her siblings) wrongly arrested and prosecuted for burglary - something the police refused to do. He might not have physically committed the later ab-se, but he did enable it and he did mistreat the kids during the 8 Passengers years.

She was literally paying Jodi to do crimes against her kiddos with her. Unreal. Also, sentences are consecutive, not concurrent. So minimum is 4 years, but she might get credit for time served so she can apply to the parole board for release in about 3 and a half years. Jodi got the same sentence. Statements from the prosecutor leads me to believe they’ll be advocating to keep Jodi in custody longer, but they seem comfortable with the minimum for Ruby. Max for second degree felonies is capped at 30 years for Utah. Do better for the children, Utah. Gross.

Even as a kid I thought the punishments were off

9:10 I can't believe they got away with this for so long. I hope they don't get out anytime soon and that the kids are safe, away from that family, and getting intense therapy.

Well, if Ruby does survive prison, she will pubically shamed for what she did. No one likes her.

Actually Jodi was the therapist for their son. She’s the one who encouraged Ruby & Kevin to send him away (& punish him). Their church recommended Jodi to be his therapist, that’s how they met. Austin McBroom should keep doing what he’s doing because it’s the only time he’s exploited his own suffering instead of using his kids for content

People need to understand that a lot of this stuff is just normal mormon parenting.. the ONLY reason these kids got help is because they got national attention. The CPS here didn't do anything because as far as Utah mormons go it was all seen as normal discipline. I would bet money that half the CPS workers probably treat their own kids the same way.
