I think there needs to be a list of cool features that have not been recycled. An example, Sid Meier’s Pirates Gold had a aging mechanic that made the game more difficult as you played longer instead of scaling up enemies. And yes, I’ve played sifu but that felt to *me* like a lives system not a difficulty modifier. I would love to see this feature in some of the new massive RPGs. I think it would lend to multiple play throughs.

Other "troll" moments from "Until Dawn": -Same moment mentioned in the list, you could've just collected the totem while investigating the voice without opening the hatch and go through another corridor to rejoin your friends. It's like the waving hand moment early on, you don't have to interact with the obvious bait. -Matt trying to save a falling Emily leads to Matt dying and no information will help you avoid such a fate. You can only stop this by acting in ways players won't like 1) say the "radio tower idea" you came up with is "a bad idea" when it isn't OR 2) basically leave Emily to die to save Matt by jumping to safety.

@@taylorjames14 LOL I made it my mission to kill Emily when I first played the game because I hated her so much. I've also done an everyone lives playthrough and no, she doesn't get nicer. Even when you manage to save her and she grudgingly shows some gratitude for it, she's still a btch about it.

In Guild Wars a girl in the tutorial gives players a piece of cloth as a quest reward. Thousands of players tried to find out its secret and asked the chat what it was for but nobody knew the answer. Because that item was in fact completely useless. All it did was block valuable inventory space. Many years and updates later the developers finally added a quest that rewarded players who kept that useless item. The now grown up girl gives you a weapon in exchange for the cloth.

I know someone will remember the grief from this gap in tmnt nes. You fight across a bottom level, get to the upstairs and fight back across the level to come to a small floor gap before the item you need to continue. The ceiling was just above your head and you could barely leave the ground on a jump. I fell in this hole repeatedly trying to get the precise timed jump just to redo the whole building again or die trying for hours of my childhood only to accidentally discover to cross the gap you had to not jump. Only by walking across a hole in the ground could you proceed in the game.

The until dawn one didn't get me because I at one time in my life had studied Wendigo. So when I heard the voice I went..."Nope! Nope! They mimic voices nope!."
@Onslaught5242 жыл бұрын
The thing with this is that, if Jessica is still alive, you get a cut scene of her coming to in the mines immediately before this, giving her an entirely plausible explanation for being there. This means even if you know windegos can mimic voices, it's totally possible that is the real Jessica, and not opening the door will condemn her to death. However, this trick is much less effective if, as in my case, you already knew Jessica was dead. X(

I was going to bring this up but I was beaten to it. I work at a game store and I question why people buy new sports games and CoD games every year. I compare them to the iPhones of the gaming world. Slight differences (if any) and full price every time. People will buy it because "I need the new [insert name brand here]." Similar with things like Nike Shoes, they pay for the name more than the product. Easy money for these companies. *Edited for a spelling error.

I would like to add to the Assassin's Creed shout. I used a really handy online map that someone made, with cookies so it would save your progress, to track my progress in killing all 60 Templars across the game. I visited each location at least 10 times before hitting the internet to figure out what was going on and why I was still missing one. What was happening I hear you all ask! Well; the Xbox 360 version of the original AC had a glitch that meant one of them would never, ever spawn for me. I trawled forums and found people saying "approach the hut, on a horse, from the East, he will spawn behind" and other such suggestions. I must have tried for a good 20 hours to get the spawn. To this day it's still the only achievement I didn't get for that game.

If it hasn't been done yet, one topic that I think would be interesting to explore is game moments and/or events that are scripted unbeknownst to the player. Thinking specifically about The Handsome Men duels from Killer 7, where it's presented like a legit boss encounter, but in actuality the entire thing is scripted and you have no control over who actually wins any of the duels. I'd love to see more examples like that where you're given the illusion that what you're doing matters, when in reality no matter how good or bad you are the result and even how everything plays out is the exactly same.

Potential controversial idea- games that were made by the wrong company or for the wrong system. Let me explain- the WII U was wretched any way you slice it. However; I think with the dual screen mechanic it would have been perfect for a game like GTA V. Or, I don’t ever want to sully the name of BOTW having spent way too many hours in it. However; I think the leveling and be skills mechanic from Far Cry 5 could have been a cool feature. Now off to coffee and to pray for the sins I just listed.
@Twiterer2 жыл бұрын
I have coffee in me now, and I still stand by this idea. Further, I know RDR2 came after the WII U had thankfully been taken out to pasture, the dual screens could have lead to a great experience with the game. Also, Sonic in it’s later years has become a punchline. I would love to see Nintendo make a Sonic game. Yes, I get that this is Mario’s longtime rival but; with games like BOTW and super Mario odyssey for the last gen systems, Nintendo has proven they will work tirelessly to get a game right. I would love the same love and attention to be given to a longtime video game franchise like Sonic that needs quality, and love only like Nintendo can do.

And have the four hundred flags here give you a great ship in return.
