This volume of 80's commercials was fun & enjoyable to watch, especially on this weekend. Thanks for these! 😊

Most years people looked back in time through old pics, tv shows, classic music, etc. but now there is no greater feeling of nostalgia than watching old tv commercials. We watched so much tv back then that it takes us right back to those times!

I love the commercials for shows in this era. This on has the Facts of Life, Riptide, and my fave Double Trouble's premiere and they are actually clear. What a find!

Getting pumped watching these for my 80s bday party comin up. I remember my dad taping movies off tv and he'd start to pause out commercials but get lazy or fall asleep and stop doing it so we'd always have commercials for the last half of the movie. We could get three movies on a VHS tape. ABC sunday night movies were a staple.

Oh, kind of an interesting story, in June of 1982 I was between 7th and 8th grades. My Jr. High school had sponsored an trip to Washington DC, and so I went. Flying into Dulles International airport our flight went over the Potomac and the plane was still in the river because they couldn't get it out when it crashed because the river was all icy and slushy. I was on the side that was able to see the plane.

"Skor- An Exercise In Indulgence"- I bet that's one exercise no one would break a sweat doing. Don't worry about the recording glitch in that "Sea Dog" Dog Food Commercial. It was barely noticeable. The Dog's glad you didn't edit him out.

I didn't notice the recording glitch. I was mostly going "Ahhh! Look at the cute doggy!"

The couple in the Campbell’s soup commercial had excellent chemistry, I think I sense a Love Connection.

I never get tired of that Nissan V/O guy - he's always..... **AWESOME!** But as for the SF Giants, going 66-96 ending up in last place in the National League West... maybe Crazy Crab should have been thrown out earlier in the season!

I can't tell if that was Ernie Anderson in the Quaker granola bar commercial and the Nissan commercial but if it wasn't sounds like 1984 was a great year for dapper baritones

This is probably the first time I've ever seen a full on commercial for a sports team (and...their mascot?).
@80sCommercialVault4 жыл бұрын
This aired only a day before the 1984 baseball season started (and two days before the Giants first game of the season) on a San Francisco based affiliate. While the campaign was odd, it's not too strange for the start of the baseball season to be advertised.
@melissacooper42824 жыл бұрын
@scottbaino I was surprised at that too! Whenever I went to a ball game I usually get excited when the home team's mascot came on the floor! Everyone else did too.

@@arashjadidiproductions We also had a side view WWII fighter jet game where you had to take off from and land on aircraft carriers. Best part was doing a nose dive to drop all of your bombs on a single enemy soldier and watch the frame rate die.

Lmao “Campbell’s: soup is good food”

Yeah it should say 'canned soup is sodium overload.' As is almost everything we eat now. It's ridiculous
@Tishauna74 жыл бұрын
Soup *IS* good food. It's meant to be a filler when there's nothing else. That's why Soup was created in the first place.

Give me a can of Chicken Noodle O's or Chicken Noodle any day (or Chicken with Rice before they started having giant-sized carrots). I'd take it as a quick lunch any day over McDonald's.

So, Giants ball players and team fans are jerks to crab mascots. The more you know, I guess. And just how was this supposed to promote the team, exactly?
@80sCommercialVault4 жыл бұрын
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Major_League_Baseball_mascots#Crazy_Crab I guess "Crazy Crab" was intended as an anti-mascot? He only lasted for that season so I guess it did not go over well with fans.
