An incredibly unsung hero. As much a I love the early days, the EP being one of my all times…Promised Land is a masterpiece imo. Definitely a bit different but damn can you sink your teeth into that album and it just gets deeper as you go. His bass playing on the title track makes me want to plug my bass in and go. Without Tate its a cover band. You can't have a band with so much focus on vocal and then take that part out of the equation and expect to hear the same sound. Very similar to Quiet Riot and what they're trying to do now. I can appreciate the cover.

Queensryche in their prime was amazing, Rage is my favorite but I didn't get Eddie referring to themselves with Metallica and especially Slayer as a musical movement they shared. Maybe in the most general sense of heavy metal but they certainly were not Thrash. Rage for Order tour was great, visually it was a little cheesy as this was way in the glam era but musically was superb. I met them at a record store meet & greet and they all (except Tate) were very personable, friendly and humble. It was a great show!
@dowens37813 жыл бұрын
Yeah, he seemed pretty confused at times in this interview, saying that Queensryche had three albums and the EP out before Mindcrime when in fact it was only two albums and the EP.

@@crusheverything4449 I think that Geoff is normally a cool person overall and probably friendly with fans the majority of the time. The whole spitting thing was the culmination of years of tension within the band. I'm sure nothing was the same after Chris DeGarmo left.

When Eddie started talking about replacing Geoff, his entire demeanor changed. He was choosing his words very carefully, mincing them so as not to implement anything. It's seems quite evident he's trying to structure the story in a way to avoid another law suit with Geoff. Because if it comes out into the open that they had already decided to replace Geoff with Todd before actually firing Geoff, then Geoff can come back with Discovery, nullify the original settlement, and sue once again for even more damages... Possibly even being able to take the band name and a percentage of profits since the settlement. And Sharon and Miranda may be able to join the suit in a wrongful termination claim. Eddie's conspicuous change in demeanor makes it appear that Michael's "solo project" was actually a clandestine audition to replace Geoff before firing him. And that is illegal under federal law. By mincing words and saying very little, Eddie is actually saying a lot... a lot of what he doesn't want to say.

he probably just chose his words carefully because it was a sit-down interview and he knows damn well it will be on KZbin forever and ever. I am sure he is sick and tired of having to explain the drama over and over again, years after it happened. And yeah, he probably is careful with what he says on the subject since songwriter rights and royalties is a subject that induces intense arousal in lawyers
