Beautiful boat, ours is 2008 with Volvo penta d4 300s and We get around 40/41kts flat out. Few minor differences in colours etc but mostly the same. Also, in /2008 they changed to 325 intrigue and that then brought a new colour of helm, black windscreen frame with stainless steel on the top and new heads door but that’s pretty much it. Great video as always Nick.

Nick, I owned a 2003 Doral 270 SC with a rare 3.5 Kw Nextgen Genset for 12 years out of SC USA. It was a great Express cruiser! I travelled from Key West to Montreal during vacation. I hope more manufacturers build trailerable cruisers with this range capability in the future. It had 100 gal. fuel, 12 gal. diesel (genset), 30 gal water, and 30 gal black water cruising. Only one other manufacturer has/had this capability this year. All the best!

Comfy Cruiser, well suited for an evening on the water, a long weekend or an enjoyable fortnight (using my American to British Translator). Favorite feature - permanent bed forward of the permanent dinette. No clearing the table to sleep or folding the bed to eat. Clever. Oh and the second stateroom - for all your newly made friends (neighbors who found out you have a boat). Nice kick off to 2022. Happy New Year, Nick

I like this one a lot. I know that digital is all the rage, but there’s just something about seeing the gauges across the top of the dash that I like. They are, we have a 2008 intrigue with Volvo penta d4 300s and it will do 42kts but cruise at 27 at just 2400rpm. Very heavy and beamy so very good in rough seas

Hi Nick, how do you know when a boat is no longer fit to be on the water? This Doral is 16yrs old and looks in great condition still but at what point does the hull start becoming structurally unsafe (if that does in fact happen with boats)?

Always best to get a survey if buying an older boat, however GRP started being used in earnest in the 1960s, and plenty of those boats are still going strong.

A nice little weekend boat, Nick. Just wonder g though if you would need a tender with this type of boat as I presume you would park the boat in some of the smaller harbours around the UK for example. Interested in your thoughts. However I very like this size of boat.
