1. This is only a PhD degree program so if u leave on between you get no degree. 2. You can join as faculty , move to research consultancy even corporate jobs . Academia is most common . 2. A full time PhD is mostly pursued by freshers only .

The MBA graduates who have completed a full time MBA ( the flagship PGP) with a certain percentage are exempted from the requirement of having an Eligibility Score . However even they will have to submit an SOP / RP and appear for the viva . Yes the students who have a PhD from IIM are given relaxation ( maybe even preference ) specially by the newer IIMs.
