I just bought this same laptop 15-dc1054nr but i notice looks like in this video he is overclocking the CPU? Im going to post some videos without overclocking and leaving the Omen to balance power settings not in performance it will keep the fans spinning low speeds and temps lower too. Also not plunged in it will just boost frame rates.

@@Ret1r10n Actually did. It runs almost every game on high settings and butter smooth. Only problem i have is the fan being on the bottom. So i just bought a laptop support for it so it can breathe properly. I also finally beat Crysis 1 with this laptop 🤣

St0rmXD Hello, and yes, if you lower the voltage it happens. Be patient because you need to discover an exact point for correct performance. If you get a blue screen in the process, keep trying, it usually happens if you still can't find the correct voltage. Grettings

The temps shown is for gpu and it's pretty normal for a GPU to have these kinds of temps.ofc the CPU is a whole another story in terms of temp. I am not using any thermal paste. Consider subscribing!

Got 15t model. Literally any game CPU up to 95 - 97 temp. Even when idling it runs on 4Ghz boost... It is freaking fast but temps are high... you know... power

I got hp omen 17 i7 8750h - gtx1060 - 16gb ram 256nvme2 - ssd 2tb sandisk and I got the same performance as yours lol. I have undervolted it btw and temps don’t go above 88-90 . Try undervolt cpu. And max temp I have seen in my gpu is 72.

Hi, check the thermal paste, usually the one that came with the laptop is already dry. Please note that maybe the heating pads will break if you open and remove the CPU and GPU heat pipes. You can get some on Amazon. Greetings and tell me how it goes!

Is this better than the RTX 2060 version of HP Omen ? I’ve seen that this 1660ti runs its power close to its Desktop version whereas the RTX 2060 on laptops run half the performance of its Desktop version.

Yea, mobile rtx was lower compared to its desktop, this omen version was pretty match for gamer/animator, BUT it just pretty hot while running some heavy graphic task, I suggest you to look at msi/asus since they have better thermal system

Hello! Did you apply Undervolt? I have the same model and the maximum temperatures are 77 ° in gpu and 71 ° in cpu (- 0.140v, and I activate the "Balanced" mode) (in Fornite for example, playing with the same settings you used) (I use a base, no fans, just to keep it elevated). I do not know if they are good temperatures, I bought it recently and I would like it to last several years :( PS: your videos helped me decide on this model :)

So for the CPU, it can turbo boost to 60W. For the GPU also I'm pretty sure it cranks it up to 90w. The omen software just got an update. It can now efficiently transfer power between the CPU and GPU, basically like AMD smartshift. Consider subscribing!

@@protaytoe1705 60W for the CPU in Gaming ? Are you sure ? That's pretty massive. Stock CPU PL1(CPU only load) should be 60W and PL2(CPU+GPU load) 45W, by Intel Spec. If the CPU can go up to 60W + GPU up to 90W (in gaming) - that changes everything, that's some class leading stuff (1660ti at 90W should be faster than a 2060 at 80W). You should upload a video sharing your findings friend ! I was expecting to see that in this video, but CPU Power/GPU Power were not "toggled On" in MSI AB (OSDisplay) :( Also, You just got a new Subscriber ;)

Well the thing is, my CPU wasn't actually performing that well. I got around 90 celsius after playing games for like 2 hours, which I would consider to be not that good. The GPU was fine though. But I never got any throttling, which was a good thing. Consider subscribing!

10750 / 9750h are very similar. The new one "can" run 2933 memory. Keep in mind that a 50W 9750h should be better than a 45W 10750. This is just a example.

Consider undervolting your cpu. I've only just learnt how to do it and have put a -125mv undervolt on my i5-8300h using throttle stop and have seen a drop of 5 to 8 degrees with my laptop during benchmarks. It also slightly increases battery life and presumably the lifespan of other components like the gpu (which typically uses the same heatpipes as the cpu in laptops) since they won't get so hot.

I have the Omen as well and I just purchased a $25 cooling pad I dont game on it as hard as I do my PS4 but it's a strong gaming laptop I only seen a performance stutter on Ultra setting on high AAA titles and it's no different than when your console stutters or fill in the background (for example Ark survival on PS4) I dont know how it compares to the next Gen console but I think think this laptop lands right above the strongest Xbox and slightly under the series X

Maybe you could try undervolting using Intel xtu software. It could reduce the temps. Note that these are usual temps for gaming laptops and there is nothing to be worried about. However, undervolting is always better in the long run, if you do it properly. I would highly suggest you watch a couple of videos before trying to undervolt. Consider subscribing!

Hi guys, I have seen many people getting issues on overheating, especially the CPU. What I would recommend is for you to try undervolting the CPU. Although it cannot provide a drastic change, it can reduce the temps slightly. I am planning to create a tutorial on undervolting, so stay tuned. You can also try to reapply thermal paste. If you get a good quality one (like Arctic MX 4), it should provide you with good results. However, here is your warning. Unless you have lots of experience, I would highly recommend you to watch tutorials on how to do either of this. Irresponsible use could lead to severe consequences of your device. I Have the HP 15-dc1058wm Omen. Exact specs as yours. I use throttle stop as well. Under volting does help. However I have my temps still reach 75-80c at base clock values. This is eh. I have also looked into a manual fan control app, but I have found none to exist. I am looking to not add my own thermal paste for as i am afraid it will void warranty. have had maybe for 2 months.
