Great lesson! Love the alternative F chords!!!!…..but will continue to practice the regular F. 😊

You can do it!
@MusicLover-sb7mo Жыл бұрын
Do keep trying! I have been doing the F alternatives since picking my guitar back up in the last year. I used to do barre chords when I was young, but harder now that I am a senior. I am pushing myself though. A true F sounds so much richer and I can do it. But my switch is not always smooth. Same with Bmin. I am determined to get past my “I can’t do it” mentality and now saying “keep trying..it sounds better today!”

Your the real thing mam! I just can’t get my fingers toughened up to practice. But it will happen. I’m watching the songs you can play with the 9 chords! Your making this so exciting! Love this!

Perfect timing with this one, Lauren! I had just taken to picking a strumming pattern and practicing chord transitions. Now I have a couple new chords to experiment with. Thanks as always.

@@LaurenBateman I had a bit of a ‘break’ for a wee while. That’s me right back into it again. I started 9 months ago ( I’m 64) It felt fantastic to manage relatively easily all the chords that you covered. It was a wee boost that I needed to get me back on track. Wishing you, your wife and all your family ( and everyone on here) a Very Happy New Year. love from Scotland 🏴

Thanks Lauren for going over the basic chords. I picked up the guitar at age ten.. learned basic chords but could never get the strumming down. My younger brother has all the musical talent.

I have known those chords for years. Still am not able to play a song. I love to jam with myself for hours improving chord progressions. I've tried writing my own songs with some success but none learning songs from radio-records. Cowboy-Barres-Power-Blues scale, yet nothing.

I’d say maybe find an experience guitar player that can help identify where your having problems, I’ve found that strumming patterns can vary between songs and also the bps of song have to all come together for it all to sound like what your trying to play.

There are many songs that use the chord Em, C, D and G. Focus on those first.

I am a very new at guitar so what I have done is learn these chords and apply them to songs. I am also trying to remember the names of the chords; it is hard in my opinion. I can only play one simple song and I only started learning chords yesterday.
@jeramiedutcher6720 Жыл бұрын
The hook for me was catchy, simple intros. It turned into practicing the 14 major and minor chords and switching without missing a beat. Then, all the other chords were easier. I don't know their names. I look at a chart and connect them with where they get used in the song. Sharp and flat make sense, but the dim, sus2, add2, 6, 7, 9 everything is too much to remember.
