@@Gignation all tips should go to the driver. Everyone driving for doordash is being cheated and it's not right. When someone is ordering and wants to tip the driver ahead of time $5 but the total going to the driver would be about $8 with or without the tip, that means that they are taking it from the drivers and it's just not right. So many drivers and customer of doordash are pissed about this. I've never even ordered from doordash, or worked for them but I'm pissed also. I thought about working for them but I won't until this dumb stuff gets figured out. I don't want to work for a company that's trying to do anything to save a buck for themselves. Before you accept an order, you only know which restaurant you're going to. The app doesn't even give you the customer's delivery address until after you've accepted and picked up the order from the restaurant. At least that's been my experience, so kind of confused as how you know your delivery distance beforehand to even be able to decline an order in the first place. 🤔

Xlnt vid. Doordash is a good side hustle if managed right. For example, I don't accept orders that will pay me less than $2 per mile driven. I also will not accept no-tip orders. I feel disrespected when a customer is unwilling to pay a tip. I multi-app between Doordash and Uber Eats. I also multi-app between Uber-X and Lyft. Thus, each day I have three apps running (Doordash, Uber, and Lyft). I accept some Shop & Deliver orders, but only if I'm familiar with the layout of the store and the item count is relatively low. For example, Walmart is a NO GO for me because I don't shop there, thus I don't know the layout, and the shopping list is often quite long.

Fun trick I've used to maintain the surge pricing: ending your dash resets the %. I.e., if you end dash after each delivery, it cashes out the surge there. Then, if you get an order you don't like, refuse, end dash, start dash, and now you have a clean slate again. I generally only end after every 2, so I can't say this works for 1 delivery per
@Gignation5 жыл бұрын
Nice. Used to use that a lot as well, after each dash during surge. Only issues is sometimes you can’t start dashing again because there are limited spaces. Also, DD almost always throws a delivery I don’t want as I’m trying to end dash... if I reject I don’t get surge
@asiangirl00395 жыл бұрын
I've done that as well but sometimes it backfires. Depends on the area and if there are a lot of drivers you can't get back in to dash.

I live at the DMV. For those of you who don’t know that stands for DCA Southern Maryland in Northern Virginia area. I actually live in Alexandria Virginia which is like depending on where you are pretty much like 10 minutes from DC so I do you make money and I have been doing door Dash since the beginning of 2016 Yes it is best to know your best location and times you also have to know that when it’s raining over here on the East Coast, (a lot of people will not go out) When it’s extremely hot, or really cold. Those are the best times to Dash I feel everywhere in the United States. I don’t like the fact that DoorDash switch their customer service reps over to foreign countries. I like before when it was easier to contact Arash and then let you know what place you are in queue and you get someone who’s American I can understand I don’t appreciate them using people in the Philippines or in India that I have no idea what the hell they’re saying.

Excellent advice for new drivers. You are right about that surge bonus tip. I ended up making less one lunch than I normally did trying to do the 80%. Even with the $1.50 bonus, I made about $20 less on that dash. I schedule for that day and time every week because it is always busy. My acceptance rate stayed around 95% to 97%. I noticed I started getting low paying long distance deliveries. Started declining. I do receive tips especially in certain areas.

It has worked for me in the past at a different location. The order had instructions to place in person. Based on the feedback I’ve gotten on that tip it may not work in all locations/ it could’ve been phased out with an app update that limits you to the address listed...

Good video. I track my miles manually on an Excel spreadsheet, because my wife uses the car for work. Another thing to point out are the bonus times. If you want the bonus, you have to do every order. You would have to do 10 and miss one in order to get 90%, which is over their required 85% minimum. Trying to do 10 within that bonus time when everyone else is going for that bonus is going to be rare or impossible. If you can only do 9 orders or less and miss just one order, then you are already under that required 85% and will lose the bonus. Something else that I still haven't seen covered in KZbin videos are "what if" scenarios when it comes to a signature (for grocery deliveries, aka Walmart). If the actual customer isn't available, can the husband or someone else sign for it? Would you just put in the comments of the delivery who signed it if it was someone different? Otherwise, what could you do? You can't unassign it once you've picked it up, you probably don't want to keep it all, and taking it back to the store would be ridiculous. Plus, you have a serious risk of getting a 1 Star rating, which will drag your overall rating down which gets you closer to deactivation. I know you could just refuse them, but there are people who are disabled that are looking for someone to bring those groceries to them.
@adielgonzalez52865 жыл бұрын
Ur thinking too much If ur trying to get the bonus then end ur dash and waaa laaa u get 100% acceptance Do that every time and ur good For tge signature just get the person from the address to sign it it doesn’t matter thats where the person ordered the groceries too.
@KILRtv5 жыл бұрын
@@adielgonzalez5286 , I've ended dashes early to maintain that 100% recently, because of one order that was a bit of a nightmare because the business didn't have the specific item they wanted, I couldn't get a hold of the customer, and I drove out to him to find out what else I could get. It was either that or lose $30 worth of bonuses.
@america14035 жыл бұрын
You do not have to do 10 deliveries to get the 100% bonus... I accepted 4 out of 5 orders and still made the required 80% acceptance... you can also do 1 out of 1 for 100% or 2 out of 2 for 100% or 3 out of 3 for 100% and so on... or you can do 4 out of 5 for the required 80%...

So I have a quick question. I signed up online only having to provide my personal information for a background check. They delivered the set up kid in two days, but it’s been almost a week and a half now and I still haven’t gotten a welcome email. I DLed the app like the kit said, but once I signed in, the first thing it wants me to do is activate the red card. I put in the info it requests and it tells me that authentication information is not provided. I read online that I have to wait for this welcome email, but as I said, it’s been almost a week and a half and no email as been sent. Is there something I’m failing to do, or do I just have to keep waiting??

Is double check your card info was entered correctly. Also possible that they have put you on wait temporarily, summer months are slow for these services

Yeah, the info is correct. I’ve tried everyday since I got the kit. But that does make sense that I might be on a wait. I work for grubhub also and can attest to the fact that summer months are slower. I didn’t really consider that. Thanks!

@duncanhorn50875 жыл бұрын
I just started using the free Stride Tax and the biggest positive I have experience compared to IQ mileage, Everlance and Triplog is that it batches all of my deliveries into one file for each Dash session. The others required me to classify each start and stop trip as business or not...a constant annoyance when all of these individual stops and trips are business when I am dashing for hours at a time. You can also link to your bank account to import Dash related expenses and your income to create one tax filing at the end of the year.
