Hi and thank you for your video but i'm still a bit puzzle here. I do have Pro license (no premium workspace) and i have publish a report in "My Workspace" and this report should be visible by my colleagues that doesn't have pro license (according to what i have read, users with viewer role doesn't require a pro license to access the report) Users in my org have an Microsoft 365 E3 license. Do i'm wrong or misereading something?
@CurbalEN3 жыл бұрын
My workspace is only visible to you and all sharing requires a license, no exceptions unless you publish to web.

pls mention what is possible with which license,, because for example, Embedded in Teams requires PowerBI Pro license!

All sharing except what you share with power bi desktop requires either a pro or a premium license.

@@CurbalEN Hello, I am pretty sure Publish to web (public) is still possible with a free license. I helped someone publish a report to web recently from a free account. Only they had to verify the domain, become the administrator and allow embed codes in the admin portal before publishing.

Yes, if you are the admin and you allow for it , you can publish to web with a free license, but for the majority of the free users, it is not, or it should not (it is a dangerous feature) be an option.

Hi All, I have to confess that this issue of sharing the reports is difficult for me to understand. I have a Free account in the organization where I work. How can I share my reports so that recipients can interact with them? Sharing by PDF or Power Point removes all the features inherent in the Report, it becomes a simple photo. I do not want to share the .pbix file. Do I have any way to share with a free account?

Out of curiosity - is there any reason you did not mention that publishing to the service requires that I have a pro license (10/mo) AND that each individual who wishes to VIEW my report must also subscribe to the pro license? Might be a really important thing to mention.

Hi Ruth and thanks again for another great topic. I have had trouble finding info about how to create a power bi report/dashboard that is different for 50+ users. For example, I have more than 50 managers who need to look at their own team data. So I need a way to filter for those managers and then give them access to their own data. I know about RSL but that's not really what I need here. I've also tried URLs with filters, but that's not great for security (the filter word can be changed pretty easily). All the vids I have found assume the report is being created for a mass audience and everyone can view the data. But in a real world scenario, that's not realistic. And I'd hope PBI could be shared to individual managers with separate requirements. Thanks
@carltonseymour8692 жыл бұрын
Hello Linda, I have just seen this and would recommend the following. First, define whats needs to be seen by each manager through a Row Level Security with DAX. Second, set me the email permissions on the Dataset of that model. You will have to do it under Dataset -> Security. Setting up a Dynamic RLS is also possible. Here you will have to create an additional table with two columns. One column will be email and the second is the attribute you would want to filter by. For example, would it be by state or by region? Connect this excel to the main model as a dimension table and then create RLS on this new table using the DAX expression. The advantage of this is that you can add or delete emails in this list.
