So it will cinch down easier. Try it wetting the line and try it not wetting the line, you will see the difference.

That’s a size 1/4th for this slip cork setup. I use a 1/8th in the creeks etc. because I will also have the weight of the jig head as well and I’ll be fishing shallower like I mentioned in the video.

I've never had a problem using mono for slip corking, Trilene XL 8lb is surprisingly thin and strong.

@@903fishingUsually shallow but sometimes deep if I'm working bridge columns, I'll tie an FG knot and make a leader about 20-30 feet long. That specific brand of mono doesn't have a lot of memory either, it's always the cheaper monos like Omniflex or MrCrappie line that coil up too much which keeps your line from sliding through the bobber

If you have trouble with that knot . You can also tie a polymar knot simple simple tieing knot . But you’ll need to tie the leader to the swivel first. Then tie onto the swivel with the main line . Still need to wet your knots to pull them tight .

Summer because the water temps are hot. And crappie are more lethargic. When the fall hits, water temps drop and crappie are my aggressive and will more than likely hit a jig.

@@LeQuito I don’t usually have this problem. I don’t break off at the braid 99% of the time so I’m not usually trying to put wet braid through a slip bobber. Mono doesn’t go through a slip cork well deeper than 4-5 feet, line twist are horrible.
