✋️ thankful everyday for you. I have struggled my entire life with my weight. Tried every diet and always would hit a plateau, get frustrated and quit. Ultimately gaining it all back plus more. Well here I am again at this darn plateau! But the difference this time is I'm taking your strength, hope, encouragement and giving myself grace. 🙌🏻 I think it’s an oversimplification to give a narrow calorie range like that. So, are they saying a 400-lb person and a 200-lb person should eat a similar amount of calories? I guess as a guideline, it’s a start, but you are smart to listen to your personal medical and nutritional professionals. Thanks for sharing this information, as always. Today is rest day, so spending time with family and making good food choices. 😘

Yes similar calories. The body only needs a certain amount of calories for nutritional needs. After that it’s just extra calories.

If you are a member of Join Fridays, you can send an email to the RD with specific info she requests, and she will send you a customized calorie/macro list. For me, she recommended 1900-2100 calories, 120-140 grams of protein, 224-275 carbs including at least 25 grams of fiber, and 40-50 grams of fat. I was really surprised at the high calorie count, but I understand that the objective is to heal my body and normalize my metabolism, and as I focus on that, the pounds are coming off.

🖐Woohoo on your 90-pound weight loss. Your posts are so informative and motivating! I'm only 5 feet tall and my resting calorie burn is less than 1100 calories/day. So I exercise most days for about an hour and 15 minutes for a 350 calorie burn. Most days, after exercise, my calories for the day are between 800 - 900. The amount of calories really depend on how tall you are and your size. So glad to be part of this group!

🙋‍♀that's a high five. what we eat is so important and how we eat. I did a lot better with five smaller meals than one or three huge ones. It keeps the bloat away and allows my stomach to empty easier. And prunes, old fashioned but a prune a day is really helpful to me. 8609 steps today.

Good guidelines, but one thing to watch out for… if your calories are TOO low, you’re not only in danger of nutrient deficiencies, but also *rebound overeating.* 😯 Basically, if you challenge your appetite suppression *too* much with ultra-low calories, at some point your biology is likely going to rise up and MAKE you eat. And *no* amount of meds is enough to stop this forever. It’s like a tidal wave finally smashing through a sea wall. 🏃‍♀️ 🌊 So yes, eat in a calorie-deficit, but not a *super-steep* calorie-deficit. And, I can only imagine that rebound overeating is very triggering for ppl with eating disorders, as you’d likely feel very helpless during such an episode. 😢

Thank you for the information. Please people watch Dr. Bergs video on calcium supplements. They are not all created equal. Most are harmful. I have trouble hitting protein. Everyday lately my goal is protein. My NP told me 70 to 100 grams. I don’t know about you all. It just hungry enough in days 1-4 to eat that much. I get inspired by your videos.

I did walking this morning and working on my water intake. Today was my 4th shot. Doing another month of 2.5 and I’m still not hungry and I’m ok with that but it’s also hard to get food in when I don’t want any. I do drink protein though so there’s that. 😮 ✋

🙌 my initial wt loss center told me 1000 cals per day, 20-25 carbs, 80-100 gr protein but when i joined fridays the doctor said i could loosen up some on the calories and it was too restrictive w exercise and told me more like 1200-1250 so that was good to hear

You are so awesome! I have lost nearly 100 pounds in the past year doing 1200 calories. I'm a 6'2" male 65 years old. Weight loss has stalled completely for months now and I have 30 pounds still to lose. I have been on Wegovy 2.4mg for 10 months now. I'm meeting with my doctor next month to see if switching to Zepbound would help. I haven't gained, but haven't lost either. I'm nervous to up my calories to 1800, but I'll try. ✋️ I, too, am weird about chicken! Will not eat it off the bone and some brands of chicken breasts have tendons, yuck. Kroger grocery stores often have containers of rotisserie chicken meat. I think that I may give up alcohol. I don't drink often, more in summer, but the empty calories are not needed. And I need to get some magnesium!

🖐🏻 My ARNP set me on 1000-1200 cal a day, 60+ protein (aim to 100). Closer I can get to 1200 cal, more weight I lose. Got my DL updated today because my picture didn't look like me anymore lol. I'll be doing my YT workout this evening.

Hey Countess, from the UK. Congratulations on 90lbs!! Well done for all your hard work! 🙌 I am about to start my Mounjaro journey and want to be prepared as much as possible. I absolutely love the honesty and full information in your videos and the dedication to helping others. You’re an inspiration! I am super envious of the clicker pens you have, though. Maybe it’s just the provider, but the pen I have, the needles are visible and will have to consciously stab myself with it. And with no one to help I’m definitely not going to be able to get the back of my arm. Anyone else from the UK here? May I ask which pen you have? My deficit calculated was 1327 and I was able to hit that most days but I have been on Zepbound for 2 months and my average daily calories is about 1200. I am exceeding 100g protein and avg 21-25g fiber. I also exercise 3-5 days a week, mostly strength and avg 1.5 to 2 lb loss per week (down 11.6 total but didn't lose any 1st 2 weeks)

@cloakster Yes. I have tried everything. I actually had a lap band in 2011 and lost 88 pounds but have gained most of it back. I actually like exercise and last year I was exercising like 6 days a week for 9 months straight and the lowest my weight ever got was 228 that whole time. Then I get frustrated and give up. I am on like 523 consecutive days of logging in my fitness pal.... I had never even heard of GLP1 shots until about 3 months ago (yes, Apparently I live under a rock) and I was like ABSOLUTELY NOT when the NP I was seeing about getting lapband removed suggested it.... but here I am 🤣 after research, a good amount of the Countess' videos, and watching the Oprah special (that I remember Elizabeth from but didn't connect the dots that I had been watching her videos already 😂). I was a little more ready to accept the challenge than a lot of folks starting out because I was already doing a lot of what was recommended before I even knew this was a thing. I am hopeful for slow and steady success. 2 months in and I am where I was after 9 months of grueling exercise and stress....this time I am seeing the progress though....which keeps me going, despite the $550 hit to my wallet every month. 😭

There’s ALOT that goes into caloric deficit that can’t be generalized. For example, I lost 27 on the shots last year and didn’t regain. Started on zepbound 2.5 months ago. I’m down 21 lbs. I am a very tall, big with a lot of muscle mass and I weight lift regularly. For that reason I must keep my calorie intake around 1200-1300 to ensure I can “feed” the muscles and I don’t any to put my body in starvation mode. That’s what causes the weight gain after the injections stopped. I’ve been on my journey for longs years. You have to lean that works for your body and play around with it

BCBS is doing this in certain States like Michigan, but in Florida I've been trying for 2 months thru appeals to get my medicine covered and BCBS will not cover me. I hope others don't have the same experience as myself. Seems wrong that my insurance that I pay for won't help cover a medicine my doctor has prescribed.

I use a calorie tracker site and it has me at 1,900 calories a day for a one pound a week loss and it is working for me. Still waiting to see if my insurance will cover Zepbound and then it will be a matter of finding it here. My doctor did say I would be the perfect candidate for it due to my hunger levels being my main challenge in maintaining a weight loss.

First week I ate intuitively and lost 7lbs and felt great. Second week I went on an eating plan that made me eat 1300 calories per day. I lost 1 lb and felt awful. Week three back to intuitive and already down 4 and feel good. I’ve noticed I only really want to eat in the morning and I want healthy food. Eating any other time makes me sick. Anything processed makes me sick. But yeah I’m concerned about developing healthy habits too.

✋🙋‍♀️ I am going to talk to my NP about titrating up after this month on 5mg. I am not having the same experience as I did at the start of taking the 5mg.

First week on Mounjaro for Type II diabetes & weight. Appetite lost w/no desire to eat by 2nd day. Force self to eat one meal a day and this is just 1st 2.5 dose! Prepared body w/cleanse colon before starting. Did 6 months on Ozempic last year=nasty sick/homebound with digestive issues. I fear digestive issues and doc says drink water, eat fruits, & veg. I'm taking magnesiums, Calm, fiber supplement, digestive enzymes, super greens, protein and 126 oz+ of water. So far very small bites of fiber & protein stay down. Nausea at 2am. Sugar down to 90-140 mg/dL.

My nutritionist wants me to eat 1,600 calories a day and eat 120 grams of protein a day ….I can’t do it most days.. I do workout with weights 3x a week. I find it impossible to get that manny calories.

🤚🏻 I try to get enough protein in, but it’s really hard as a vegan. I’m not enjoying all the processed food I’ve added to bump up the protein. I’d rather eat fruits and veggies.

I live in the capital of saudi Arabia and the shortage is insane here too, the 0.5mg dose is never available here. Today I went to the pharmacy because they said they have the medication available again and when I went there the pharmacist told me the 7.5mg is already finished? It’s crazy! I had to drive 20km further to get my medication

My dietitian said I can be between 1300 - 1500 so I guessed 1400 and added fruit and vegetables.Added chia seeds with my cereal using almond milk. So I changed my diet a lot. I use LMNT and Barebells one a day.

🖐 Thank you. I was wondering about the calories. My calorie tracker has me at 1,494 calories per day. If I walk 8,000 to 10,000 steps and eat at least 100g of protein, I see a weight loss. Today I am trying to reach those goals cause I have been falling short all week. Still need 34g of protein and 5,000 steps. Thank you again for the info. 👐

I have a pretty decent eating habit. I dont eat red meat. I do chicken, turkey, and fish. We only vegetables and little to no carbs. I take a full serving of fiber from sugar free gummies. I eat fruits here and there and low fat yogurt. I guess my question is...if you already eat healthy, would this work for me? I gained weight due to back to back pregnancies. Also, we cant have caffeine ?

🙌 Thanks Elizabeth.. I noticed the BioMetrics Magnesium is 2 tablets per day containing 500mg of Magnesium. My multi-vitamin contains 110mg.. that’s 610mg. I think the upper recommended dose in vitamins is 350. Do you take 2 tablets per day?
