Why would you go to leaf springs if you already had a linked suspension?

The links are too short and limit the down travel. Longer links are only possible if you relocate the gas tank. 3 link with torque arm and panhard is possible but expensive to by the kit. I have 12" of travel with $500 invested in the brackets, shocks and junkyard tahoe leafs.
