Many couponers started out of necessity & still donated $1,000's of dollars to pantries, organizations, neighbors, friends, family, etc. I know a few extreme couponers who do exactly that. Because it's money back to fund food that isn't free. Let's say mouthwash retail at $3.00, store clearances it out at $1.00 and she has a $2.00 off manufacturer coupon; she gets $1 back from the store. That $1 goes to fund everything else. Of course all this is sort of bogus because the coupon states cannot be combined, 1 coupon per visit etc except that she finds either a store that doesn't care in the name of "customer satisfaction" because they submit it to the MFG for credit and get paid eventually anyway. Either that or also the stores have broken their coupon policies for the show (documented) and at least other people have been caught with fake coupons.

Lets see shop with couponing, and by buying the items we don't use I get overrage that covers what my family DOES NEED, making our grocery bill zero and that money can be used for other things....and what they don't need gets donated to various areas that do need it. So its a win win.

The only stores with strict policies are usually the greedy corporate chains...and even then ridiculous considered they are compensated for it and then some. Sorry Andrew I go to a store where I can use an instore instant savings for purchasing certain things, then access THEIR app for their store coupons, AND use a manufacturer's coupon stacked for EACH item bought.....no limits. And I can get cash back but just use it to pay for something else we need. I'm nowhere near this level. But it exists and people need to stop being whiney.....because you are 100% lying if you say you wouldn't do it since it would stop you from having to pay for any of those items, and thats money that can be put into other bills, savings, vacations, a million things.

No, they are always going to have products that dont sell well in certain regions. Thats why coupons in inserts can be drastically different from say east, midwest, and west coast.....and why buying inserts online is a thing. They have a surplus they want it gone. If its sitting in a warehouse somewhere its no good. A considerable percentage will never reach this level....it is to much work. Its a ft job 40 or more hours a week to plan out a trip or several store trips to maximize savings. Most ppl don't have time for that so they'll be like me.....occasionally coupon for really good deals, but i simply cant do THAT.....i tried and it was horrible for me. Its easier now w access to digital coupons on each store app.

@Madeline Harper I don't have a kroger or any place that does double coupons :( when I did what was extreme couponing for me, mainly tp, diapers, wipes, cleaning products, and body products) my main focus was Walgreens. Mine has 2 check out areas and always plenty of staff, so it wasn't ever a problem because I could go do multiple transactions over in the beauty section....I never hold up a line, if there were other people I'd let them go first. But the manager was a young 20yr old guy who barely knew his job (things are a bit weird like that here) and so he didn't like it. He had no knowledge of his own companies policies even though I carried copies. He wanted to make his own rules. So I'd attempt to go in when he wasn't working because he'd speak condescending to me, and also to his employees...many of whom were older, even elderly and did great jobs. He treated them so disrespectfully. I was as pleasant as I could be for as long as I could be. But he crossed a line the way he treated and spoke to an employee who was checking me out on a trip there....she was elderly and I just watched her face fall into sadness, and then she was silent while he watched me like a hawk. I could only imagine how he treats them when no one was around. So I stopped going, I did call corporate, they don't tell you what they do but they did apologize as everything I was doing was acceptable on their terms, he can't just decide how he wants to run the store. I don't know if he was fired, or transferred but he no longer worked in our city at any walgreens. I've never seen a fraud coupon, no idea, there are so many ways to get legitimate ones i dont know why there would be a need but who knows? I'm currently doing my coupons at doller general, and occasionally walmart or hyvee.

Most couponers keep track of their expiration dates and when they get close to the date they donate them to the armed services Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines. They get a six month grace period since they are located so many places in foreign countries etc. they use the coupons in their px and on base stores

I'm a couponer. Our stores have limits on how many we can use. AND the coupon states how many the COUPON ALLOWS in a transaction. It's commmiting coupon fraud and people go to jail for it. I just wish that we COULD do things like this. I would never work again.
