Non avevo mai fatto caso a tutto questo, ci ho pensato per la prima volta guardando il video! Certo deve essere difficile ricordare tutte queste regole ma per fortuna eventuali errori non compromettono la comprensione della frase, inoltre in diversi casi l'articolo può essere messo o meno indifferentemente. Ad esempio, si può dire: "mia mamma non è d'accordo " oppure " la mia mamma non è d'accordo". Entrambi i modi sono ugualmente utilizzati, almeno nel linguaggio parlato (ma credo anche scritto, almeno in narrativa). Se il nome è alterato invece l'articolo ci vuole sempre, proprio come ha detto Lei : " la mia zietta, la mia sorellina, il mio fratellone, la mia sorellastra....".

Infatti. È vero che questa sfumatura di grammatica non compromette la comprensione. C'è sempre una sezione in un testo d'italiano però che tratta di queste regole dell'articolo con membri della famiglia quindi ho deciso di fare il video. Comunque, grazie di aver approfondito questo argomento.

I've got confusion about the "family member modified by a suffix" part: firstly, are there only two diminutive suffixes for family members, which are "ino" and "etta"? Secondly, Would it be still correct if I used "la mia piccolo cugina" instead of "la mia cuginetta?

I can't say with confidence that '-ino' and 'etta' are the only diminutive suffixes that you use with family members. I believe they are the most common, though. There is also: -olo used on figliolo for instance.

As far as your second question about "la mia piccola cugina", I think you want to say "la mia cugina minore." It sounds strange to me (if not wrong) to say "la mia piccola cugina". Usually when talking about family members that are younger or older you use 'minore' and 'maggiore' -- "La mia cugina minore."

Final question: with "family member modified by an adj" part, how do you know when to put the adj before or after the noun? Why it must be "la mia sorella maggiore" BUT NOT " la mia maggiore (adj) sorella (n)" ?

For lack of a better reason ... you use "la mia sorella maggiore" because the alternative is never used. If you google it, you will find that the words "maggiore sorella" don't occur in that order. In fact, many adjectives that come after family members fratello gemello, sorella minore etc. all come after the noun. This usage, however, doesn't seem to be governed by any particular rule.

For #4. " Her dog" Why is it Il Suo cane? Shouldn't it be La Sua cane?

'Suo' can mean his, her, and your (formal). The adjective agrees with the gender and number of the noun it modifies. Since 'cane' is masculine, you have to use the masculine singular form, hence: il Suo cane. I hope that helps.

In italian too we have "Voi" form witch is very very formal. We use it with very important or very old people. In south Italy the "Voi" form is used instead of Lei form. "Siete davvero una persona molto gentile". Note that in this form the verb is plural (siete) but the adjectives are singular! "Siete elegante" (NOT siete eleganti).

'Il suo cane' could mean: your (formal) dog, his dog, or her dog. It would depend on the context. By the way, 'carne' means 'meat' ;) -- that's a spelling error that really changes the meaning of the phrase!

zii is the plural. me loro zio isn't correct. I'm not sure if that is a typo and you meant something else.
