Yes- and the video praises google for good care somehow :(- at least they could give explanation for reasons and choice for users. 50USD cannot cover battery replacement in countries without program and 100USD voucher for store with prices higher by more than 100 comparing to chain stores is also a bit of a joke

Just a note on the 4a battery update. I got it, I'm not eligible for any refund though. My battery life is dramatically worse than two days ago, and I'm not exaggerating. I can't see any positive sides to this. My beloved phone just got a death update basically.

My 4a battery lasts 4/5 days no update... Worried about this FORCED update/upgrade. In stores I can get pixel 8 pro for £499. Google store £799. So what is the point of a $100 discount.

My 4a has near enough been ruined by the latest update. It never had superb battery life to begin with, but the update has made it so bad. It reduces rapidly. I've loved the 4a because of the compact size and the camera, so I'm a bit of a loss as to what to go for next. I don't want anything bigger. I might just go for a dumbphone tbh.

First tests with the update installed are not looking great. Battery capacity is seemingly slashed down to around 600 mAh (20% of the original 3140 mAh) and fast charging is disabled.

Haven't fixed the app switching bug yet. Leave an app, go to homescreen, touch an app, app loads in the background but doesn't animate or appear. Either turn off screen or go back into windowed app, then swipe to different app. Seems like a big fix.

I had the S22+ before this and it could unlock with face unlock even in the dark. Pixel is way behind. Only thing I didn't go for samsung again was because I've seen many models facing green lines after software updates.

I had the Android Auto audio issue since the December update on P9 Pro. it has not resolved. Now I have an additional issue of G maps crashing in Android Auto. I've never seen that before.

I have pixel 4a, in december 2024 it charged at 1.25A to 2200mAh from flat. After update it struggling to charge at 0,5A, took 800mAh and stopped charging, claims its full. Can i reverse that update? I had capacity of 75% of new battery and now its trash. Is this "new battery management features to improve the stability of the battery" ?

p9pro from December update i got 'the line bug' where in 50mp resolution pictures after taking, then viewing it there is 'a line' when zooming in the picture. Still NOT fixed in Jan update. They better fix it! (YES i have everything updated and YES i have reported to google)

It would be great if they adjusted the brightness of the screen which tends to drop when exposed to the sun for a few minutes. I use the Pixel 7 I don't know if this is the case on other series.

It's not only google apps, it's up to the app developer to support it. In my case, 14/16 icons on my home screen support it, of which 10 are non-Google. But yes, it's annoying, the lack of support from third-party makes the feature look dumb. It's slowly getting there.

It's only been 3 years (since Android 12) and many BIG developers care less about themed icons. Amazon, Yelp, McDonalds, Capital One..just to name a few. Don't get me started on app icon names being truncated. I can't stand 'Amazon Sho...' as the name. Fix this!

It's a glitch that happens when watching video in full screen and it will turn green for no reason. You have to reset the phone.

P8P takes forever now to connect to streaming services. Used to be instantaneous, now it takes 30-60 seconds. That is if it will connect at all, which sometimes it does not. None of the Shamesung or Apple or Roku products in the house have this issue and it doesn't matter what kind of network I use.

The update is a disaster no doubt. My friends pixel 4a had huge issues and the update helped a lot and yes his battery is swollen up a lot. My 4a on the other hand is not good. the update really killed it hard. I'm booking a battery replacement soon.

My dad is still using his Samsung s10 and he isn't planning on changing until it dies. I changed the battery and honestly it's still plenty phone for him. So I'd say for us, power users maybe 5 is enough but the vast majority of people would benefit.

I'm guessing cuz it's kind of a core system/core-funcitoning app that needs to have easy access to core system files in order to work. Private space restricts access to those core system files.

Probably because Wallet is already a secure app? I mean the best security if you're afraid of someone taking your phone and using your wallet, is physical security. Don't let people use your phone without you knowing, Use your security unlocking features on your device. Or if even doing that is still making you afraid, then just don't use wallet. Majority of Debit/credit cards use tap to pay now anyway, which is the same tech and security as wallet, which sends your info to the merchant coded and never uses the same code for each transaction.
