I’m Catholic; however, I learned something from Orthodox Rabbis Against Zionism. It was helpful to hear the stories of how Jews in the Middle East have maintained a presence there of mutual acceptance between Orthodox Jews and Arab populations. True. Only the jewish messiah can recreate the state of israel and that is the reason why orthodox jews reject - or they don't recognize - the legitimacy of the current Israel. The problem they have is that the current israel is blocking the coming of messiah, so, as long as the current israel exists the messiah can not arrive. The reason behind this is that the messiah will be _recognized_ only _after he has fulfilled the tasks in his TODO-list_ and because the very first task is the recreation of israel therefore the prophecy of messiah can not be fulfilled because israel is _already there_ . The orthodox jews want to shutdown the state of israel just like the muslims want to shut it down. So, they both have the same agenda but for different reasons, both want this _version of israel_ to be shutdown.
