She was born and forced to be raised in a home with scientologist parents. Folks shit on her for being from a scientologist background but I seriously think she's tried to separate herself most of her life from it, I think its where this emotion comes from and where we'll see her evolve over time. Thinking some of their new songs we haven't heard yet will tackle her struggles, which is why I wish some folks would just wait to criticize. Scientology is a scary cult and would try to destroy her life if she was outward about it directly, through her music I bet we'll get to know more and I think something as big as Linkin Park will be her safe space.

When she was first announced I was thinking “good for them for not giving up, but I probably won’t bother with the album”, but I’m sold. She is an absolutely fantastic singer, and she suits the band perfectly. I still haven’t been able to get the previous single’s chorus out of my head, this is also a super strong track, though not as catchy. Best part is that I still sounds like the linkin park I know and love. I’m hype for the album now

Just for some context: one thing that I've noticed with fans of Linkin Park who aren't familiar with the League eSports scene, is that they don't know that this is a song literally being commissioned/collaborated with Riot Games Music (which is a world class music production label that just so happens to have come from a video game company xD). So this isn't a song that Linkin Park is writing in a vacuum and Riot Games is paying for the copyright. The song's direction and production are being directed by Riot Games Music along with the artist they collaborate with. Now, when the artist is as big as someone like Linkin Park who have a very specific style, the artist will probably take the lead in writing & production, but they are still having to meet whatever narrative directions Riot Games Music expects. This song is written and produced to be a Hype song for the LoL Worlds Championship 2024 (in the same vein that an anthem is commissioned for the Fifa World Cup), which means it's going to be a bit more simple in its design and writing because its main purpose to hype people up for the event.

Is this actually true though? This song is on Linkin Park’s new album and they debuted it at their concert in Hamburg - a couple of days before this music video dropped. They also uploaded the song without the music video on their own channel. And there are NO Riot Games Music copyrights on that video! Seems like in this case it’s actually the other way around, that it’s Linkin Park’s song first and they’re licensing it to Riot? And obviously the collaboration is for the music video.

@@Aces9815 99% certain this is the case. Riot doesn't just license an already existing song for their Major Tournament Anthems (at least for the past decade). Every song that has been used for a Worlds Anthem, has been created specifically for the event, even if it's released under the Artist's discography/label. Like I said, with bigger artists, they'll sometimes take the lead when it comes to production. See Star Walkin by Lil Nas X from 2022. If you go to the video page, all the credits goes to his team & other producers, but if you look it up, the single was released jointly by Columbia Records & Riot Games. While Lil Nas X/his team were the primary producers of the song, they did work with Riot Games Music's assistance/theme direction. I was surprised by LP getting to premiere it early, but I imagine it was a special case, with the timing of their tour (Riot Games announced the Artist & Title of the Anthem on the 22nd, the same day Linkin Park Performed it) and the fact that Mike Shinoda has had a relationship with Riot Games for a while (he has interreacted with them for at least 9 years and was at the Arcane Show premiere). Edit: forget to put this - It's entirely possible Riot Games took even more of a backseat in this production than they did with Lil Nas X, but I guarantee you that this song was created specifically to be the World's Anthem, even if the main concept was LPs idea.

@@lbllk99 I'm well aware that it's on their upcoming album, but this isn't the first time that an Artist had been commissioned by Riot Games to do a song for the World's Anthem and the song's released under the Artist's Label (see Lil Nas X - Star Walkin 2022). Regardless of that, it is always a song that is specifically created to be the LoL World's Anthem, which requires collaboration between Riot Games Music and the Artist.

I love how this song sounds similar to tracks on Hybrid Theory and Meteora! The old school vibe works well for League. (There's also not much story to get, this vid is about the real life players for the esports teams, shown with their chosen character's weapons) The animation SLAPS tho, studio Fortiche does fantastic work! They animated the series ARCANE for League and it's an amazing show

I understand that it needs to be commercial too and it's already great to be on such a big stage as the LoL World Championship, but Hybrid Theory and Meteora were "inclusive" and it was heavier, but it's my personal opinion that it was something kind of standard and almost forgettable if it weren't for the scream. I found this new song a bit repetitive and I would like it to be heavier, I felt like it was a younger brother of Given Up, which is on the way but hasn't quite gotten there... but (unfortunately) I feel that bands like BMTH, Spiritbox, Silent Planet and Sleep Token are doing more experimental and interesting things... And i still think that Emptiness Machine is an "ok"/solid song, even reminding a bit of songs from Minutes to Midnight (in my opinion, the band's third best album), as well that the singer is good and the choice of changing genres is good even for the band's emotional side and I hope the new album is good, because I'm already going to buy the show here in Brazil.

I’m gonna have a hot take here, the screams feels out of place, like don’t get me wrong, it’s a great scream, but it gave me “Metalcore throwing in a breakdown when it isn’t asked for” vibes. The comparison to Given Up makes sense, but that scream fits because it gets a build up, it just felt like the scream was thrown in. I like the song, just the scream feels like it’s underserved, like it’s a big moment, it should have a build up.

Hopefully this gets noticed. LEAGUE songs WILL NOT BE CLAIMED. The company doesn't claim them, the artist works with the company, so they don't either. The only issue there was was with. Star walking. And that was a KZbin issue. Because they failed to update the copyright. And even then there were no strikes.. as long as it's the official music video. You are fine
