The Daleks and the Mechanoids have encountered each other several times across the history of Doctor Who, and we're going to take a look at some of the most prominent battles between these two species

It's pretty cool to see there are at least a few species who are a match for the Daleks which can leave the Dalek hierarchy in ruins such ask the Thals and Mechanoids.

Agreed. Can’t forget the movellans who literally created a virus that destroyed dalek tissue, almost wiping the daleks out completely. This gave the Movellans the superior strategic advantage xx

So if you had a choice between an army of thals mechanoids are time Lords to lead against the Daleks which would you choose Time Lord may seem like the easy answer because well timelord but remembered again timelord they might try to betray you

Id like to see a faithful re design but also a glow up to the mechanoids, same with the movellans. Both have very strong concepts, but haven’t stood the test of time.

Keep the basic shape of the mechanoid but imagine all those flat Panels opening up to reveal all types Of horrible gizmos

I personally love the design of the mechanoids, they are so simple but very effective. I think they should return to modern who to face off against the daleks yet again in a power struggle against the universe. They could give them a slightly modernised design but still true to classic who like, they did with the mondasian cybermen in S10 which is now my favourite cyberman design. It would also be great to see the daleks struggle to defeat another race, who’s technology and understanding of the universe is vastly more evolved than that of the daleks. Perhaps the mechanoids have been in hiding, improving and preparing their technology to fight the daleks. Perhaps we could even see an alliance between the mechanoids, humans, the draconians and the Movellans to fend off the dalek threat. I personally think this would be awesome to see. However this is just my opinion to each their own as they say xx

I think that's a great idea, Cybermen allying with Humans might be a stretch but a story featuring Humans, Movellans, Thals, Mechanoids, Draconians and other enemies of the Daleks teaming up in an alliance to wipe them out sounds like the perfect pitch for a Dalek spinoff series

The Daleks have evolve to rival the time Lords but the time Lords are time Lords they're using years as Weapons throwing whole cities at the evil Pepper Potts so I wonder what the hell the time Lords did the races like the mechanoids because they had no morals I feel like there's a story of what the time war did to the old enemies of the Daleks[ it's also a cheap little way to give them a power boost to keep them up with the old Pepper Potts]

i love the mechanoids and i LOVE that them being effective dalek-killers hasnt just been lost to time as a relic of the first doctor's stories still trying to figure stuff out lore-wise

I wouldn’t say they are the “ultimate” dalek killers, I’d say they probably have a higher body count at the end of each skirmish, but they certainly are a force to be reckoned with. Frankly anything that can destroy a dalek is to be reckoned with

Mechanoids are a worthy opponent to the Daleks. It would be good to see the Daleks triumph over them again. We would enjoy this.

Huh, the mechanoids seem to be a similar concept to those emoji Nanobots 12 encountered..only much cooler pfft! The battle between daleks and machanoids too this day is still rad, like a ballroom dance of death. Kinda reminds me of battlebots!

The mechanoids are my favorite aliens. The design is unmatched. I would love to see them again or perhaps a series on the Dalek/Mechanoid conflict. Upgrade them if you must , but not by too much. Like the Daleks, their design is unique in science fiction history and in art itself.

As unlikely as it is I'd love to see them come back, I love my little balls! You heard me. Where did you get the information about them fighting the Movellens and Dalek Sec being sent to wipe the rest of them out btw? If those are Big Finish stories for example I'd love to hear them

It comes from the 'Birth of a Legend' story from one of the early New Who kid's books, it has a brief backstory for each Cult of Skaro member

I think in concept the Mechanoids are really good, but I don’t like their design, too bulbous and look like they’d topple in a light breeze. According to Dalek 63-88, Terry Nation originally envisioned them as being capstan-shaped, which I think would have looked way better. Their voices weren’t great either, sounded like a ring modulator at a very low frequency. They’re very hard to understand unless you listen VERY carefully.

Wait... so these mechanoids were service bots, to be sent out to build colony-cities years ahead of arriving colonists, who gained consciousness and started to fight back. Wow, and here I was, a naive new Who fan, who thought the Emojibot episode Smile was original.

A new line of story with the Mechanoids could be interesting, but I think the design could defiantly use an update. Unlike the Dalek I don’t see the mechanoids being adverse to hyper invention and innovation, if for any reason than to keep ahead of the Daleks.

as far as I'm aware it's never stated that the Mechanoid Queen is some an alternate timeline, even if the Restoration Empire technically are. I don't think the Mechanoid queen has been mentioned outside of the Daleks! Animated Series but it's the most iconic Mechanoid leader we've had so far (voiced by Anjli Mohindra, no less)
