@@aminmeghani6819 yeah that’s when I meant. She is so underrated. Kalpana never really got the respect she deserved as an actress. She wasn’t given meaty roles to really stretch her acting skills. The other girl in the song was good too. Very charismatic

Used to be my favourite song when I went to pre school 😅 I remember asking my mother to play it on radio player after getting back home. I used to eat only if this one or "Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam" would play. Moreover, this is the first movie my parents went to watch after getting married. They were married the same year it was released.

'Raja Hindustani' had great songs, and this song - PARDESI, PARDESI - is an absolute favourite. I think there were a few versions of this song in the album, and they're all magnificent. Karisma Kapoor is Shashi Kapoor's niece. (*Shashi Kapoor was married to British actress Jennifer Kendal). The Kapoor family is huge, and there are many relatives within the Indian film industry even today. Interesting fact - Karisma Kapoor was the first woman in her family to break the mould, and became an actress, after which her younger sister, Kareena Kapoor Khan joined films, and broke many more conventional norms as a leading actress in the Indian film industry. Both sisters are well regarded, and respected for their film work. Lastly, listening to your feedback to this song, it reminded me of a film called 'DIL SE', directed by Mani Ratnam, with Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala in lead roles. The music and song videos in this film are absolutely epic, and mini-masterpieces in their own right. *I highly recommend you watch the song 'SATRANGI RE' from 'DIL SE'. I'd love to hear your feedback on this song as you have a great eye for nuance and detail.

Pritviraj Kapoor is their Great grand father, Raj Kapoor is their grandfather, Shashi and Shammi Kapoor are their Great Grand Uncles. Randhir Kapoor is their dad, Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor are their uncles, Ranbir Kapoor is their cousin. Actresses Geeta Bali, Jennifer Kendal (Felicity Kendal’s sister) are their great grand aunts, Neetu Singh is their Aunts. Babita is their mom, an actress...... Although coming from this illustrious wealthy film family, Kareena n Karishma had a very difficult childhood w financial struggles because parents separated because of dad’s alcoholism, no financial help from family and they were basically disowned, mother struggled from pillar to post and Karishma had to go to work at 16-17 to support them, only to find that her patriarchal family would sabotage her career.......... They forbade all their friends to give her any serious, big roles in hopes she’d become frustrated and quit so she did a lot of comedic, sometimes silly roles and was a great dancer. After many yrs of doing these limiting roles, they finally gave in and she got 5 amazing roles that unleashed her incredible talent and won 2 National Awards but quit for marriage and motherhood.....I can recommend Zubeida, a powerful film and beautiful haunting portrayal by her which stays w you after watching. She was amongst the top best actresses of the 90s.......... Kareena still works after 21 yrs and 2 kids later in lead roles and she’s always in the top 3 or top 5 best actresses after her #1 phase. She’s the only actress to have 2 iconic roles in Bwood and they’re still relevant, loved, examined and talked about even after 2 decades. Truly a talented family indeed.

Shashi Kapoor is Karishma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor' s granduncle(grandfather's brother). Raja Hindustani is the Amir Khan's character's name in the movie. Very good song.

That is not a kathak dance. It’s strictly Bollywood dancing performed supposedly by gypsies. She is a rich mans daughter and the boy is poor and her parents stand in the way. A typical Bollywood story, but this was actually pretty good. I remember seeing it long time ago.

Just came across your channel, really enjoying it. Thank you for your reaction to this iconic narrative. The storytelling and the cinematography are amazing, one of my all-time favourites. You must watch Tere ishq mein nachenge from this movie, another great storytelling song with superb performances by Aamir and Karisma. Their eyes are so expressive. Aamir drank alcohol so he could do justice to the scene. The director focused on the nuances of life that are often overlooked or forgotten..

I guess what she drinks is an infused of Asian lemongrass water or turnmeric water if it doesn't contain alcohol. They actually good for our health if it's infused with hot water and drink them when a bit colder. It looks like an oil, but not oily 🙂

You seem interested in the Kapoor dynasty, so maybe someone has already pointed out that the beautiful Shashi was married to Jennifer Kendal sister of lovely Felicity Kendal. And that he acted with Felicity in the 1965 film Shakespearewalla. Which brings me to my request. Please react to any of the songs from Jab Jab Phool Khile if you have not already done so. First Indian film I watched and which never drops in my estimation.

This is one film that really didn’t age well. The plot is absurd and cringeworthy when watched today. But the songs are evergreen and even still evoke such emotion. I like to remember this film only for its soundtrack.

LOL please dont ever watch this movie, great songs enjoy them but not the movie. The movie became a hit because of the super great songs and the kissing scene. The film itself is....lets just keep certain films in the 90s era
