I have been on pins and needles all day waiting for your video Andy. You are fast becoming my favourite channel. Omg I laughed out loud when you said you forgot how to render 😂😂😂. When I think of all that work you did to that house in town…. it should be like riding a bicycle ! Please stop saying you’re not a professional at it. You do better work than the guys you paid to do it. I knew it wouldn’t look shrink wrapped. You don’t give yourself enough credit man. It’s so nice to see you exchanging favours with your neighbours. Kinda like a barn raising where everyone pitches in. You are indeed on a wonderfully exciting journey and I for one am grateful to bw able to live vicariously through you. Ignore the armchair critics. It’s your journey. Nuf said. See you next week!

I thought the same thing! 😂 He has done so much rendering, and all of it turned out great. “It’s been a while since I did any rendering?” I started laughing at the sheer volume of rendering he has done on this journey. I like how he has so much humility. It’s such a great quality, and it seems to be becoming rare these days.

Lovely gesture helping your friend Florin - isn't that what life is all about? Friends, dogs and beer - what more do you need? Keep safe Andrew.
That plant you were pointing out is called a sago palm, a very old prehistoric palm, grows well in dry arid climate, it does require an occasional trimming on those lower branches touching the ground, add a lil mulch around the base and lil well around it, so when it does rain water can be captured

Great job with Florian. Are your hands in a mess because of constant skin contact with cement and lime? The tiling adhesive and grout are part of that same issue. I generally take no notice of health and safety issues either but, when they catch up with you like this, take time to recover. When my own finger tips wear, I can no longer open my laptop, because a sharper thumbprint is required. When doing endless manual work you/we also inevitably end up with arthritis issues in later life, so keep that in mind when considering the use of thin gloves. PS. If you want a really flat wall when rendering or plastering then you need to use a (long) straight edge. Not necessary here though. Florian's studio looks great and is a rustic building, and I'm certainly not intending to lecture here. I'd have done exactly the same.

Hi Andy, that wonderful plant you were highlighting, looks like a cycad…here in Australia, they tend to grow about 1.2 metres high (will take decades to reach that height) but tend to grow more outwards than upwards. Stems can be 1 - 1.25 metres long. These plants were around during the dinosaurs..it depends on the variety you have, perhaps your variety does tend to grow upwards..in any case, they look superb. Look after those hands, mate. Perhaps a bit more swimming in the ocean will help the skin, and mind. All the best
