He didn’t claim Jesus was the Most High. Lord Jesus does not equal “God the Son” or something like that. Again, I rest my case: Paul never claimed Jesus was to be taken as God besides the One. Trinitarians don’t get to determine what Paul historically meant. All kinds of people were addressed as “lord” in the ancient world. It didn’t mean they thought they were equal with the Most High. The psalmist of psalm 110 addressed the king as “lord”. Does that make him the Most High? Of course not. Joab addressed David as “My lord the king”. He clearly meant nothing suggesting equality with Hashem.

PS - and the really sad thing about these “Jews for Jesus” missionaries is the fact that if a Jewish person gets taken in by them, then they tell this convert that they are no longer under Torah! So sad! “Jesus” according to the church did away with Torah. The Jewish MAN (not a Demi-god) Y’shua, was Torah obedient and taught us that He did not come to abolish the Torah or the Prophets. The fish is also the symbol of the fish god of the Philistines, Dagon. See the "mitre" hat that Catholic cardinals, bishops and the Popes wear, representing the fish god. Another interesting bit of information is that the god Mithra was seen as a mediator between the god of light and humanity. This is where the idea/ideology of a mediator between HaShem and humanity comes from. Or put another way, Rome introduced, and forced, the world into the pagan religion of Dagon and Mithraism. And by using the Tanakh, saying it is the basis of the religion, convinced the world that it is the only true religion. They used an historic figure and used him as Dagon/Mithra (intertwined), just renaming them and their disciples.

The elders of Israel are said to have seen God (not his face, but still saw him) and it notes how God did not kill them. @@ManoverSuperman The Holy One, blessed be He, is not confined to a body or physical form. Although He may present Himself to a person as a specific form in a prophetic vision, intellectually, that is so the person can receive God's message within his mind and senses.

I doubt the ancient Israelites really believed in a post-Aristotelian conception of the First Mover. I think when they read the prophets, they really did picture God exactly as described by the prophets in an anthropological way. There is not any strong evidence for a strict matter vs. spirit distinction in those times and places. At any rate, ancient Levantine cosmology and metaphysics is quite blurry. Personally, I think the idea of the Highest condescending to take a human-like form is quite touching and intimate. It also has its expression in the Hindu understanding of Sri Krishna, albeit with some major theological differences in tow.

Everything that has limitation and definition, by virtue of its body, also has a limited and bounded power. Since God's ability and power have no limitation or boundary, His power is not the power of a body. And since He does not have a body or any form, He cannot be affected by any circumstances that can affect a body, as for example the effects of being separate from another entity. Thus it is impossible for Him to be anything other than one.

Even while assuming a shape, none of His divine attributes are lost to him. When describing the theophany to prophet Elijah, the book of Kings records the actual physiological effects that Hashem’s presence had on the terrain: it was splitting rocks! This certainly sounds like God’s presence being capable of producing real material effects and manifestations, not only visions of the mind. And as I suggested before, the most ancient worshippers likely would have seen God as one who could “go down” as it were and “see” if certain outcries were indeed true or not. God’s powers are only limited if we concede he is alien to our reality in substance altogether. But if God is the Reality from which all things proceed and to Whom all things recede, then however He would wish to manifest would be both possible and honorable, I would think.

Toda Raba Rav Singer! I just finished memorizing V'ahavta and V'hayah im shamoa and now midway through Vayomer. A mezuzah with a christian symbol on it is a complete desecration of the word of HaShem. Deuteronomy 11:16 warns against exactly what is on the outer case, the messianic seal with the christian fish on it. Messianics in Israel are bringing curses upon themselves and Am Yisrael. I have a mezuzah on my front door, but it has flowers from Israel on it, and the shin of course. I am a believer in Y’shua Rabbi, and I used to have a pendant with that symbol on it. I threw it away because something was “off” about it. I do where a Star of David from time-to-time, because of my love for Israel and the Jewish people. I’ve always been drawn to that star since I was a little girl. People have different beliefs. I don’t believe in prostelgzing anyone to the way I believe. Everyone has to work out their own faith and walk and let Yah lead them. I cannot blame you, or any Jewish person for being leery of missionaries. The authenticity of Moses is based on the public revelation at Sinai: God revealed Himself to the entire nation of Israel, at least three million people, and proclaimed before them the Ten Commandments. The general rule is that any Jewish mitzvah between man and man, or between man and God, which has a reason and a logical benefit for a person or society, is permitted for Gentiles to perform. But this does not apply for any commandment that does not have a logical, natural benefit, but instead is a sign for the Jews (e.g., wearing ritual fringes or phylacteries, or affixing a mezuzah on a doorpost), or is a Godly statute for Jews without reason or benefit understood to a person.
